The enhancements and COST reductions in Dataflow Gen2 is a big winner for me. The cheaper Gen2 gets...the more practical and widespread it will become. I love M language!
Say Goodbye to Default Semantic Models
I don't know if anyone else is excited about the deprecation of Default Semantic Models, but I surely am. We NEVER use them and always build our own for various reason. I love that they are going away and will no longer clutter up our workspaces. How does everyone else feel? Anyone here actually use them for production? BULK INSERT and OPENROWSET added to Fabric Data Warehouse (preview)
Yesterday, Microsoft introduced two new functions to the Fabric Data Warehouse, you can read more about them in their blog posts here: OPENROWSET ( Press Release || Documentation ) OPENROWSET allows you to preview the data inside a CSV or Parquet in ADLS GEn2 or Azure Blob. Can also be used with INSERT INTO to pre-filter/ transform data from a CSV/Parquet into a Warehouse table. BULK INSERT ( Press Release || Documentation ) BULK INSERT is very similar to COPY INTO, but provides a few extra configuration options: - CODEPAGE: This option allows you to load textual files encoded using national encoding. - DATAFILETYPE: This option enables you to read single- or double-byte file formats or native formats produced by SQL Server on-premises. - FORMATFILE: This option allows you to define column and type mappings in a separate textual or XML format file. How are you going to be using OPENROWSET and BULK INSERT?

Fabric Feature Request: thoughts?
Wouldn't it be nice if it was easy to create items with a Service Principal owner? Would promote good practices! What are your thoughts?

I recently had to jump through hoops of fire in order to use dbt in fabric due to this restriction. Fabric often feels like it was launched 2 years to soon.
Feedback on the getting started experience for new Fabric developers
Hey everyone, I know many of you are currently struggling to get started with Fabric. You can provide Microsoft with some valuable feedback to share your experiences about getting started with Fabric, and the free trial experience: Feedback form for new Fabric developers: https://aka.ms/FabricGettingStartedFeedbackDoc?wt.mc_id=onboardingresearch_includes_content_cnl_learncomm Hopefully we can make it a better experience for all.
