Just commenting to see what works for everyone else. Taking several other content creators ideas and creating my own version. Managing everything in Honeybook currently which I love so tweaking automations and seeing what works and doesn’t work.

@Shawn Craig I built my site with squarespace https://www.echogrooveevents.com/ and using Honeybook as CRM, zapier, elfsight and leads coming form Bark. Have a few other sites setup with profiles but nothing much coming in just yet. Got my first official wedding as Echo Groove Events booked this month...but it's in 2027. Booked a wedding after party at a club in April. Both of those came from Bark.

People want to achieve success but don’t want to put the work into what it takes to have that level of success. Doesn’t happen overnight.
How Do I Get bookings as a New DJ Business
Okay, opened my business website Sunday Night, created a Facebook and Instagram business account. Now, how do I get business? What did you do? I thought about going to the Wedding Shows as a guest and handing out business cards....?

I’ve had decent success with Bark leads https://www.bark.com/en/us/ . After that social media is best

Can also find some local charities/benefits and offer your services for free. Can be a tax write off plus exposure is great.
Content gathering a gigs

@Russ Collins DJI mics clipped on to you for audio or are you referring to capturing sound out from controller?
How are you handling Tax in different states/counties?
I do events around SC and NC which have different tax %. How are you handling this. Are you tracking/collecting? Do you apply for a business license and retail tax license for each city you play in?

@Russ Collins Good point. Looked this up for SC/NC so same applies. - Pure Services are Exempt: If the DJ only provides the service of playing music and operating equipment (an intangible service), the charges are not subject to sales tax. - Tangible Property is Taxable: If the DJ provides any tangible personal property as part of the service, that portion of the charge may be taxable. Examples might include:Selling physical items like CDs, t-shirts, or DVDs.Providing a photo booth where physical pictures are given to guests.
