Tips please on initially going sober
I would love some general tips please for those of you who have gone sober and that initial period of not drinking and how you still managed a social life and felt integrated into society and with your friends. I can be a party animal and my friends call me the social 🦋 I’m not sure how I feel about still trying to socialise and go in a bar etc without drinking certainly not in the early days. I’m totally comfortable being on my own, but would appreciate advise on how you have bridged that gap in those first few months. Without having the FOMO what did you do with your time etc. I know I will struggle with this. Thanks all 🙏🏻

For me… I just went cold turkey, decided New Years Eve that I would do dry Jan. Then just carried on… take it week by week… I haven’t said I will forever be sober, just I’m not drinking right now. I’ve been out & to friends, but managed to not drink. I like the feeling of feeling good the following day… I quite love the intrigue of people.. they feel bad for me… BUT why? I think it’s because they don’t have the will power to do the same… I have a countdown on my phone to remind me how far I have come 133 days. I went on holiday and also didn’t drink (unheard of for me) Just take it a day at a time and cherish how good you feel each day… don’t worry if you have a drink, just start again & remind yourself why you want to be sober … good luck 🩵

@Joanne A Hi Joanne I have drank non alcoholic drinks or soft drinks.. honestly don’t feel like I have missed out, if I go to friends Intake a bottle of Noseco or zeroseco (Aldi £2.99) I’ve found my nights out are a lot cheaper too 😜 As I said before, I won’t say I l’m never drinking again.. but for now I’m liking myself this way (in the past I could easily slip into the bottle of wine a night) and that’s ok too, but I needed a break x
Highly recommend!!
The Chimp Paradox: The Acclaimed Mind Management Programme to Help You Achieve Success, Confidence and Happiness Book by Steve Peters I have read this many times & often refer to it!

Not long left until our social
“You escape competition through authenticity… productise yourself.” 🎯🔥 Heard that while I was out walking Juno this morning and it hit me hard 💭💥 Honestly, this whole journey has been about stripping it back – remembering who I actually am 🙋‍♂️, what lights me up ✨, what I’m naturally good at 💪… and learning to be comfortable with that version of me, quirks and all 😅🧠 It’s so easy to forget who I am in a world constantly telling us who to be 📱🧠. But the more I lean into me – not some version I think people want – the more life actually starts to feel like mine. And what’s even better? The team around me 🙌💙 Every one of them is on the same journey – growing, learning, showing up with purpose. When you build with people who get it, everything just flows 🚀🤝 So yeah – if you’re feeling a bit lost right now, start by getting to know you again 👀💡 That’s where the real power is 💥👊 I am looking to our social tonight, ill let you know a bit more about this. Its casual tonight as so just turn up as you are. 😃 #TrueSelf #AuthenticityWins #DoBetter #KnowYourself #BuildFromWithin 💙

I love the outdoors! Hiking in The Peaks, beaches, being in nature. I am struggling with menopause, I’m 52.
