Pain and how it works
What questions do you have about pain? I’m happy to answer the questions about how it works, what brings it on and helps it go away biologically. Think of this like how Eric helms explains muscle growth

@Carrie H yes this is an actual thing you can do. There is a bunch of research now related to how our physiology both in our limbs and then in our brain is changed and influenced with pain and how it can change with movement and mental training. Most mechanisms seem to be related to how we can change automatic responses, willingness to engage with movement, and how we might see ourselves still being successful despite pain. There are a host of ways this influences from the location of injury or pain through our body systems up to our brain

@Carrie H a lot of it presents like psychology work. I start with a base of figuring out more about the person and then teaching basic techniques that I took from ACT. There are some free workbooks I could show you. Then figure out how to specifically apply that to what you experience

This type of community runs on collaboration and engagement, help us help you! For the clinicians, let me know your most difficult case from this week! For the athletes/trainees, what movement is giving you the most issues in your programming?

@James Johnson he’s got random dizziness with clear imaging. But he’s a refugee. He has a hard time explaining what causes the dizziness to worsen. It gets better with medications. Subjective dizziness with right sided loaded dix Hallpike

@B J yeah it can be really stressful. Normally I also find it helps but it’s been less helpful for me the last 6-8 months but I keep showing up
