“Monday Morning Video Review”
Folks Every Monday, I’ll be reviewing your most recent highlight videos! This is a valuable opportunity to ensure all your hard work translates into a polished, high-quality video that stands out. Here’s why these reviews are so important: 1. Understand what coaches are looking for: I’ll break down exactly what catches their attention and what makes a video effective. 2. Learn and grow: Both parents and players can follow along to gain insights and improve their approach. 3. Make a strong first impression: Your video is often the first thing a coach sees—let’s make sure it leaves a lasting impact. What to do next: - Post your video link - I’ll review each submission and provide quick, actionable feedback to help you improve! 💪⚽ Just an FYI I'm traveling today from Mexico to Orlando so the reviews might spill into Tuesday. Thanks for being patient! Steve

Some excellent videos on display here. The fact some of these are player made is also impressive. Having owned a Soccer Specific recruiting video company for 12 years, the biggest piece of advice I can give you is to ENSURE that the best clips for your position are first. This is your visual resume, your movie trailer. The best clips, with the best quality footage is vital. Just because mum and dad think it’s cool, college coaches more often than not, disagree. My job as a d1 college soccer coach was specifically qualifying recruits. If it was a poor video, the likelihood of me continuing that process dropped quickly because we would get hundreds of emails per week. Don’t let a bad video ruin your process….. and no rubbish music on the video, either!
Kicking Off with My First XI
Hi Team, If you made the starting 11 Congrats! Here’s the lineup: - @Diego M Lopez (My midfield engine work rate, positivity and energy!) - @Duncan Parsons - @Jack Burridge ( On very thin ice after his poor performance last week! 😉) - @Garrett Hofer - @Jason Wheaton - @Johnathan Corsetti - @John Daniels - @Selena Salas Alonso (My Spanish #10 pulling the strings!) - @Courtney Osman - @Meredith Trimble - @Brian Jankins You’re kicking things off, and I’m counting on you to keep setting the tone—no pressure, of course! Now, it’s time to build the bench. Who’s warming up? Who’s in the training squad, waiting for their call-up? And who’s ready to prove they deserve a spot in the starting lineup? How to get in the lineup: Post, ask questions, and comment. Check the Leaderboard at the top of the page to see the results! Cheers, Steve

@Stephen Coxon those red and white stripes seem to be a little higher in the league table, no?
Emma Greaser - Wing Back/Wide Midfield - Class of 2027 - Bethesda SC
Amazing video from a very talented and extremely physical Wing Back! Emma loves getting forward and joining in attacks, and also LOVES smashing tackles! @Amy Greaser @Stephen Coxon
Isla Dzik - Goalkeeper - Class of 2028
Another SCSN client with an updated recruiting video. It’s always so great seeing a number of highlight reels come together to make a best of. So many times we’ve started off the process with a “yeah she’s decent” when reviewing the individual reels and by the time the best of is created it’s a “she’s very very good”. Make sure you’re sending a best of out to coaches before big showcases and summer ID camps! Awesome stuff @Isla Dzik @Steven Dzik @Stephen Coxon https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dbpdHPNx28
5 Day Challenge Day #1 - Monday November 3rd
Welcome to Day 1 of the 5-Day Recruiting Challenge! We are going to spend the next 5 days completing one or two tasks per day, and by Friday we should have you completely organized and on the right path to be "Scholarship Ready!" Let's get started! Day 1: Your Highlight Video Today is all about creating or perfecting your most important recruiting tool: your highlight video. This is your digital handshake with a college coach, your chance to make a great first impression and get noticed. Without a video, it's tough to move forward in the recruiting process. Why is a highlight video so important? Think of it as your movie trailer. College coaches are incredibly busy and can't see every game. A well-made video brings your talent directly to them, showing them exactly what you can do on the field. Profiles with videos get significantly more attention. Let's figure out where you stand and what your next step is. Where Are You Now? Choose Your Path: ⚽ - Path 1: "I don't have a highlight video yet." No problem! Today is the perfect day to start. Your mission is to gather your resources and make a plan. Your Action Steps: 1. Find Your Footage: Your first task is to locate game footage. Check with your club, high school coach, or team manager. Many teams use platforms like Veo, Trace, or Hudl to record games. If you don't have access to full-game film, ask family or friends if they have clips from the sidelines. 2. Identify Your Best Moments: Watch through the footage you have. Look for 10-15 key plays that show off your skills. Don't worry about perfection; just find moments you're proud of. Think about goals, assists, great defensive stops, clever passes, or a display of your work ethic. 3. Plan Your Opening: Pick your top 3-5 clips. These will be the first 30 seconds of your video and need to grab a coach's attention immediately. 4. Gather Your Info: Write down your key details for an intro slate: 5. Full Name - Graduation Year - Position - Team Name & Jersey Number - Contact Info (Email or Phone)
