A dot just connected...
The mirror principle just clicked. My "messy workspace" isn't actually messy - the chaos is internal. And my fear about money isn't really about money. It's about never wanting to justify myself to anyone. Turns out my financial anxiety has been an autonomy alarm system this whole time. That makes so much sense, and I knew it was connected but it brought me to tears to read it.
Catching up...
Just started the ADHD Awakening Assessment and already realized something wild: what I've been calling a "focus problem" is actually my nervous system looking for an escape route. The hours I lose before and after one appointment? Not a time management issue. It's how my brain actually processes transitions. Curious what the next sections uncover.

@Nancy Dreher same to you!
Awakening assessment...
Just got to the belief section of my ADHD Awakening Assessment and realized the voice in my head saying *"you totally know how to do this so what is the issue?"* isn't actually mine. Turns out I don't lack capability. I've been withholding permission from myself to do the things that light me up. How sad is that.😒
Awakening assessment
Section 2 of the Awakening Assessment just showed me that I didn't stop creating because I stopped loving it. I stopped because being seen became dangerous, so perfectionism became my gatekeeper, and when that got too heavy, invisibility became my escape. The little girl who danced and painted every day is still in there.😢 I hope I can connect with her again 🙏

How old were you when…
I’m curious how old you were when you were diagnosed. I was in my 50s.

@Tracy Weiss Thank you for asking! I felt a bit of relief because I thought that I was dealing with that, but I also felt like it is one more thing to navigate. I'm in a very difficult season of loss and challenges on almost every level of life. It's been very overwhelming. This class is my first real dive into understanding it.

@Tracy Weiss YES. I think I've had a lot of these symptoms for most of my life but I managed them easily. It wasn't until I hit perimenopause that they seemed to go through the roof and now I need help working with it.
