Your First Step: What Every Parent MUST Know About the IEP Process
Let’s be honest—most parents walk into the IEP process feeling confused, intimidated, or worried they’ll say the wrong thing. You’re told to “trust the system,” but no one hands you a roadmap. If you’ve ever left a meeting thinking, “Did I advocate for my child the right way?”—you’re not alone. Every parent in this community has felt exactly that. Here’s the truth: when you understand how the IEP process really works, everything changes. You start walking into meetings with clarity instead of fear you learn what to ask, what to expect, what’s legally required, and what your child truly has the right to receive. And suddenly… - The school starts listening. - Your child’s services become clearer. - You stop guessing and start winning at the table. This community was built to help you get to that place of confidence—quickly and with support. Here’s what you need to do next:👉 Comment below your biggest IEP struggle right now👉 Tell us your child’s top need or goal👉 Then, go to the “Start Here” section and watch the first training We’ll walk you through every step—together you’re no longer navigating this alone. You’re equipped, supported, and ready.Welcome to a new chapter of advocacy. 💛

My biggest challenge is advocating effectively for my son. I am confident that with the right support, he can achieve his goals. Although he has not made progress in nearly three years, I am determined to understand which services to request to help him succeed. I base my decisions on the school's recommendations, but I am also proactive in seeking additional resources.
