What’s one thing you wish you would have started 10 years ago?
Business? Health? Purpose? A new direction? A dream you ignored? No judgment here. Sometimes our second act starts the moment we finally become honest with ourselves.

I would follow Don Juan de Matus teaching and asking yourself if the path you are on has a heart. “Does this path have a heart? If it does, the path is good; if it doesn't, it is of no use. Both paths lead nowhere; but one has a heart, the other doesn't. One makes for a joyful journey… One makes you strong; the other weakens you.” However I would also add Epictetus element of stoic wisdom there where the path is also the chance to refine your character and your virtue. So combining discipline and self mastery with the joy of following the path of the heart.
What's Your Biggest Challenge Getting Customers?
Most businesses don't fail because of a bad product. They fail because they can't consistently get customers. Tell us: • What's your business? • What's your biggest challenge getting customers? • What have you tried so far? • What's worked best? I've spent decades in sales and believe customer acquisition is one of the most important skills any entrepreneur can learn. Let's help each other. — Ken Queen

My business is writing and leveraging my writing to launch a keynote speaking platform and a media company. I love creation and I believe we are entering massive explosion in the creator economy. The biggest challenge is that authentic creation involves exposing a vulnerable part of you. You have to reveal your stories and your wound to truly touch the wound of another. When that gets rejected, the hurt can be deep as you a putting a cut into an already open wound. I believe the best story tellers are honest and the best stories have the element of vulnerability. This is why the sales and marketing element of this type of business can be difficult as what you are selling is not a pen or a pencil, but a personal side of you. M
START HERE: Introduce Yourself
Welcome. If you're over 45 and wondering what comes next, you're in the right place. This community is for people who want to build a business, create income from their experience, and do work they actually enjoy. I'm Ken Queen. Over the years I've started more than 30 businesses. I've had failures. I've had successes. I've made mistakes that cost money and lessons that made money. What I've learned is this: You don't need another guru. You don't need another complicated course. You don't need another year of research. You need clarity. You need a business that fits who you are. And you need to find out whether customers will actually pay for it before you spend months or years building it. My goal is simple: Help you discover a business you'd be excited to get up on Monday morning and work on. Then help you test it in the real world. Not with opinions. Not with guesses. With actual potential customers. Introduce Yourself Please tell us: • Your name • Where you live • Your career or business background • A business you'd like to start • Your biggest challenge right now I'll personally read introductions and help point you in the right direction. Welcome to Second Act Nation. Let's build your Second Act together.

Hi Ken, my name is irna. I am here because I love to create and write and produce creations that will uplift the way we think about humanity, our future and our search for meaning. I want to enhance this with income generation to sustain my life and to contribute intellectually, spiritually , and even financially to society and the world, which I feel has given me many blessings. I don’t have a strong team, the entrepreneurial journey can be isolating , and I’d love to have a community of good hearted folks supporting each other on our journey to thrive.

I have several books in progress and I enjoy working on them. They can later be leveraged into courses and speaker platforms as well as podcast platform which is where i want to go. Right now the biggest challenge is marketing and getting my social media and marketing engine setup which requires technical discipline which is not my strength
What's The Best Business Advice You've Ever Received?
We all remember certain advice that changed the way we think about business. What's the best business advice you've ever received? Who gave it to you? How did it change your results? I'll start: One of the most important lessons I learned is that sales solves most business problems. A great product with no customers struggles. A good product with strong sales often succeeds. What advice made the biggest difference in your life? — Ken Queen

An entrepreneur, one of the most successful in Tampa, asked me to ask myself if I am a rhinoceros or a cow. The rhinoceros is the one who needs to follow the less trodden path… which helps you determine if starting a business is even right for you vs toiling in the corporate world.
