Hi, my name is Alicia. Funny thing, I thought being a dispatcher was a low-end job until a friend told me I could have much more money and freedom being a dispatcher for my own business. I worked in corporate America for over 25 years and always got lowballed, but I worked the hardest. 1. I am looking to earn no less than $10 grand a month 2. I have time for myself, care for my health, and help family and friends. 3. Finally, own business! 4. Take a REAL Vacation! Never had one. However, some details caught my attention concerning starting operations that some of you might overlook, so I decided to share them with you here: 1) Verifying our company's location. 2) Ensuring the carrier has service hours. 3) Checking the driver and the client. 4) Weather conditions are also important on the main route. 5) Complying with our transportation company's rules. 6) The importance of understanding the freight booking strategy in advance. And also some general notes: 1) The importance of the product/service offering you provide. 2) Understanding the customer avatar. 3) The importance of explaining your service to the company (showing the difference - the uniqueness). 4) Focusing on market needs. 5) Understanding company preferences. 6) Understanding the Department of Transportation (DOT) rules. 7) Determining the cargo weight according to the type of truck.
