Hey so I am trying to make a new training program. To focus more on skills and strength rather than hypertrophy. The skills are pike lift off for push, turn over for pull and pistol squat for legs and I am still deciding if I should add l sit or not. (i can hold it for 7 sec but i am struggling with it). I need progressions for these skills and exercises connected to these skills. Any help is appreciated.
I did 2 chin ups- 1 at a time, tried 2 pull ups- each time almost but only got my nose up to the bar. Will keep working at doing chin ups and pull ups. I realize it may take some time to be able to do several chin ups and pull ups at one time. I wonder how many pull ups you need to be able to do before you can work on one muscle up. I did my regular gym workout today and added 10 pounds to each set on all exercises. Amazing how much harder the last set is. I shoot for 12-20 reps on each of 3 sets for each exercise. Sat in the Jacuzzi for 13 minutes and swam 8 laps.
Hey Gene! I always tell the people I've helped with a muscle up that the minute you can do 10 pull ups you're ready to go for the muscle up, but until then I'd definitely say to speedrun the 10 pull ups and not even think about the muscle up until then. How far out are you from getting a set of 10 pull ups?
