Passed Initial Screening... and the "what would you do in this situation" assessment... and the technical homework assignment. Through to the final interview!
A small win but i just started applying for jobs a week or so ago, and i just passed the initial screening for what i think would be a good opportunity to be paid full time to continue my learning. Whatever happens, its a boost to get that first little bit of validation and know that with the right opportunity my profile is good enough to get my foot in the door Update: I passed the assessment, that was an hour of what would you most likely and least likely do in various situations. Now is the fun part... the homework assignment! I have 10 days to build a fairly straight forward app in React that uses Flickr api and has infinite scroll and allows the user to favourite images and stuff. One downer: I can't use Tailwind 😱 it has been so long since I built anything without it haha 2nd update: I passed the technical homework assignment! Again, it feels amazing to get a little bit of validation that I do know how to code a little bit 😅. Onto the final interview stage. Tbh even if i get an offer I am not sure it will be the right thing for me and my family right now, but we will cross that bridge when it comes to it. The thing is that the office is in Vilnius, and the role is listed as a hybrid. The company itself states it has a hybrid culture with 2 days in the office (optional), but as this is a position in their engineering academy, i think i would need to be in for in-person training more often. If i could go there for 2 months for in-person training and then work mostly remotely from Spain, it would be a fairly easy decision, but if am required to be in the office for the full 12 months of this contract and beyond, it would be difficult. Anyway, i just wanted to give the latest update, hopefully as motivation that there are opportunities out there for people like me that are changing careers.
