Did you know...
When you're writing your resume, you don't need to list every single job you ever had since high school. I used to see this all the time when I screened resumes and not only were the jobs completely irrelevant to the job they were applying for, but it also dated the candidate. Recruiters aren't allowed to ask your age, but they can do math, so if you're listing your job from 1987 we can kind of tell your age range. That won't matter to everyone, but why give anyone a reason to pass you over? Remember, the resume gets you in the door. Don't give employers a reason to close it before they even speak to you. Tell me what jobs you can keep off your resume from now on.

I leave on that I was in the military, but I have completely removed what I did in the military as most of it is no longer relevant. I leave it on for priming purposes (leadership, reliability, discipline).
This is what I would do now after being home for 8 years
If I were going back to work now after 8 years at home, this is what I would do this week: 1. Pick one job category to focus on 2. Review 3 job descriptions 3. Translate my daily responsibilities into skills that are relevant to the job descriptions It's not about doing everything at once. It's taking small steps so you can move forward. Which one seems the most accessible to you?

I think I would use AI to help translate my skills

@Carrie McFarland I would either find someone to show me how to do it or find someone to help me translate.
If it's important to you then it's important
These are my car thoughts about the things that are important to us when it comes to getting a job. Whatever is important to you is important so don't be talked about of it. Listen to your gut and block out the noise that your being "too much". I'm curious, what is one of the most important things for you when you are considering a job (besides the paycheck ☺️)

For me, I need an environment that aligns with my values. Freedom to Be Fully Me, Radical Love and Connection, Non-Judgment as a Way of Being, Creative Possibility, Purposeful Service and Empowered Ownership. I spent a lot of time digging into my values and they continue to evolve.
