First Saturday - Share What You Do
It’s the first Saturday of the month and that means it’s time to share what YOU do. If you have a Skool community, share the link and tell us about the community. If you’re an author, tell us about your book(s) and share a link. If you’re in Direct Sales, have an online course, or hobby you’d like to share with the community, here’s your opportunity. 3 Simple Rules: 1. All shares must go in the comments of this post! Why? First it makes it easy to find someone and second it keeps our community uncluttered. 2. Reply to anyone who has something you find interesting, you may not be their ideal person but the goal is curiosity. 3. Have fun, don’t be spammy and if you have multiple options, create a separate comment. Now, let’s have some fun. Tagging some folks I know who have some cool stuff but don’t post often. @Betty Jo Winters, @Dale Cox, @Henry Hunter, @Karen Gibson, @Elizabeth Raum, @Cam Parkes, @Nat Carey, @John Futch, @Paula Artis, @Ramona Zihlke, @Beth Hanning, @Lani Carey, @Sakthivel M, @Cristal Vancarson, @Patrick Taylor, @Mayelice Castro

Hey everyone, I'm Henry Hunter, a bread baker, author, and Army vet. I've been teaching people to bake great bread at home for years. I run Crust & Crumb Academy here on Skool. It's a supportive, expert-led community for home bakers, from first-time sourdough to market-ready loaves. Every Saturday we do a Bake Along, where we all bake the same recipe together and share photos, questions, and results. This week it's a cranberry orange loaf, and I've attached the video. Jump in and bake with us. Come see what we're up to: https://www.skool.com/crust-crumb-academy-7621 I'd love to hear what you bake or what you're working on. Ask me anything about bread.
Curious Kitchen Lab: the night the snacks grew eyeballs 👀
Nobody remembers a perfect snack. They remember the batch of oat bars that stared back at them. Baking with a kid isn't about the baking. Not mostly. It's about the 40 minutes where they're up on a chair next to you, in charge of something real: the smelling, the whisking, the "is it done yet," the arguing over whose monster is scariest. That's the moment. The bars are just the excuse. These Monster Apple Oat Bars are built for exactly that. They're baked, not fussy, and almost every step has a kid's name on it: 🥣 They smell the cinnamon and dump the dry stuff in 🥄 They whisk the wet ingredients while you grate the apple 🔢 They do the math when it's time to cut (3 × 4 = 12, and they'll double-check you) 👹 They give every bar a face with candy eyes, raisins, mini chocolate chips, and little apple-slice fangs No two monsters come out the same, which is the whole point. They're sweetened with applesauce and a grated apple, so it's a snack you'll feel good handing over. One small moment: pick an afternoon this week, put a kid on decorating duty, and let the faces get weird. Recipe, timing, and the kid-friendly steps 👉 https://recipepantry.app/recipes/kids-can-bake-monster-apple-oat-bars Then come back and show us your monsters. The uglier the better. 🎃 Heads-up: contains egg and dairy, and there's a gluten-free oat swap in the recipe notes.

This or That: Family Fun Edition
Borrowing this idea from @Tosca Fasso Fall is here for those of us in the northern hemisphere while spring is springing down under and it’s time for some family fun! Which would you choose? 👻 Spooky decorations OR 🎃 Silly pumpkins? 🧥 Cozy sweaters OR 🩳 Shorts until December? 🏠 Blanket fort OR 🚜 Hayride? 🎬 Family movie night OR 🎲 Family game night? 🍪 Baking cookies OR 🧁 Decorating cupcakes? 🌷 Spring picnic OR 🍂 Autumn adventure? Here's the twist! Ask the kids in your life to pick their favorites. Then choose ONE activity to enjoy together this weekend. Whether you're welcoming spring or celebrating fall, come back and tell us what you did! Come back and tell us what you chose. Did everyone agree, or did you have to negotiate? 😂 A little play. A little connection. A new family memory.

First Saturday Share
We have some amazingly talented and creative folks in this community. On the first Saturday of each month, I invite you to share your business. This could be a Skool community, an Etsy shop, a book you’ve written, an app you built, etc. Here are the rules: 1. You can only post in the comments of this thread, this makes it easy for members to find you. 2. If you do share, don’t just drop a link and ghost. Tell us a little about your product or service. Ideally, it’s family friendly. 3. Reply to one or two posts that genuinely interest you. While you may be here for ideas, getting to know folks is also a benefit. 4. Have fun.

On Saturday We Bake
I’m writing this a little after 5:00 am on Saturday morning. The house is quiet, the tea is brewing, and while we are in different locales, I know @Sandy Chong and I are lining up ingredients and getting ready to bake. Today, @Henry Hunter has chosen Monkey Bread for our bake. I’m going classic sweet but he’s also provided four savory options. Have you ever had monkey bread? I used to make it for the kids- simple fast- yummy. A couple cans of biscuit dough, sugar, cinnamon, gooey yumminess. Today, I learn how to make it from scratch. The recipe looks pretty easy and is ideal for kids helping in the kitchen. I’m using this recipe: https://recipepantry.app/recipes/monkey-bread If you get adventurous and try it come on and share your results here. If you’re a curious baker, Henry is doing a recorded recipe session that you can use at home and then on Wednesday August 19, he’s doing a live session. Check the calendar for the time. Image from Pampered Chef. I can’t find my Bundt pan so I may use a cast iron skillet or loaf pan. Have you ever had monkey bread?

@Mary Nunaley That’s my go to stuff now. He’s about half as much as you would vanilla to begin with it’s a little stronger. Perfect for banana bread or peanut butter cookies.
