Tawus is the Arabic word for peacock. The name came from the lace motifs at the top of the yoke, which reminded me of a peacock tail. It is a sport weight lace cardigan using a top-down and seamless construction, which means you can try it on as you go. 😍 The upper yoke has more elaborate lacework that asks for your full attention, and there will be moments where it feels tricky. But it does click into place, and from there the lower body changes into a much simpler lace. I am still working through my rujuu and wondered if anyone else is? I like to go a little off piste with patterns (I believe @Zanete Hussain does too!) and decided early on my cardigan was going to be hooded with a zip closure. I also then decided I wanted to fleece lined and have everything i need to finish. Using techniques I've learned before I centralised the pattern for the hood, starting part way through the chart, and stepped back 5sts each side to allow room for a ribbed edge. Would love to hear from anyone still knitting! 🤩 I still need to: 1. Finish hood ribbing 2. Sleeves 3. Sew in ends 4. Block 5. Pattern, cut and sew in fleece lining 6. Add zip and cover strip 7. Wear!
