Limping vs. Raising
Is there ever a time where open-limping is the right play, or should you always raise/fold? Had a long talk/debate with Wolf on this. Trying to get some opinions

there’s no real argument for limping. it’s never correct

It's absolutely horrible-especially in a raked game, but even in an unraked one. Limping doesn't allow you to assess ranges in any scenario. That's not what poker is about. You want to be able to gauge the strength of your opponent's hand and narrow their range down street by street, ideally to just a few combos by the river. If you limp and then flat a raise, a lot of good players will isolate limpers very wide (sometimes 40% of hands), and even recreational players will open a different range against you. Anyway, that's my two cents.

@Mary-Belle Allen unfortunately a losing poker player would rather spend $100 on his next buy and continue to lose then to make it $100 investments and become profitable and win in the long run. That’s why they’re so little pros.
