Newbie Baker here 👋
Hi friends!! I’m very new to baking and not so good at it but I’m working to change that! This was my first time making macarons (not using the recipe from this site) and they are embarrassingly hideous fails , but I think I’m learning something new after each fail 😂 I’ve been only doing the Italian method, if anyone has any pointers that could help me trouble shoot I’d love that! I really want to master cute character macarons!!

@Kelly Jones thank you for the tips!! I’ll definitely try this all out and keep an eye out at each step 😊
Busy Baking!
Hi everyone! This group has been too quiet! I think we should share what we have all been busy baking. I’ve had so many fun batches lately. Experimented with chocolate seals, gelee fillings, made a rainbow sherbet filling and tried matcha this week for the first time. Cant wait to see what everyone has been up too!

Banana Flavor
Hi all, I love banana things but hate artificial banana flavoring. Currently when I make anything banana it’s always using a recipe I have that you soak very ripe bananas in heavy cream for 24-36 hours to extract the flavor. Then you drain the bananas and use them in something else and use the heavy cream in a white chocolate ganache. It’s like a banana milkshake and absolutely delicious! My question is how does everyone else get real banana flavor without all that? I wanted to do a banana split flavor and i didn’t have any ripe bananas. I have tried Amoretti Artisan banana and LorAnns Banana Cream oil and both taste like banana laffy taffy which is not what I’m going for. Those are usually great flavors but for this one it’s just too artificial. I’d love to know how you get real banana flavor. Pic of a recent hot fudge sundae mac of mine so I don’t get lost.

I’ve seen a hack on tiktok where people bake their bananas in the peel to “ripen them” some people do it regularly in their bakes and others say its not the same but I haven’t tried it myself 🤔

I recently made a delicious white chocolate strawberry ganache using fresh strawberries reduced and pulsed in a food processor then added to melted Ghirardelli premium baking white chocolate , vanilla bean paste, and heavy cream!!
