A Line in the Sand
I have been editing and re-editing my late fiancée's biography off and on for the past 14 years. I'm getting the line edit back on Saturday. August 27, 2026 would have been her 75th birthday, so I am going to publish the book on that day. Happy birthday, Arlinda!

@Rob Cole You're welcome! It sounds like you have a lot on your plate right now, but you also seem confident that everything will come together in time. Finishing the pig feeding stations and starting the bathroom in the caretaker's cabin are big tasks, but I'm sure you'll get it all done. By the way, would you like me to connect you with the person I mentioned who could help with your book trailer? I think they could be a great resource for you. How are you feeling about everything with the move and all the projects so far?

@Rob Cole Thank you for letting me know, and I completely understand. Publishing projects can require a great deal of time and focus, so taking the time you need is important. I truly appreciate you keeping me informed, and I'll be here whenever you're ready to move forward. In the meantime, is there anything you'd like to prepare or discuss ahead of resuming your publishing tasks next month?
A TASTE OF DECEIT!
My first chapter is live: Down on his luck, journalist Jack Sutherland pitches a profile on famous foodie Serendipity Brown, tasked by his editor to uncover her husband Richard's disappearance. Jack arrives at her art nouveau-style estate, Bishops Ridge farm, and is boisterously welcomed by the flame-haired chef. Serendipity settles Jack into her missing husband’s former study, fueling his investigative instincts. Over strong drinks, she invites him to her upcoming cooking demonstrations at her home. My novel: A week-long demo by a famous cook has four guests hide links to her missing husband. A romance with a visiting journnalist uncovers the truth. I'll be posting a chapter at a time on my site. (I hope I'm allowed to post this, @Faye Ellis?)

@Gwynne Conlyn Thank you for reaching out. They actually do not have a Skool community of their own. What they do is help community owners who are struggling with growing and building active members within their existing Skool communities. The best thing to do would be to reach out directly through the email I shared with you, as they will be able to provide you with all the details about their services and how they can specifically help with your community growth goals. Once you've contacted them, I'd love to hear how the conversation goes for you.

INTORDUCTION
Hello everyone, I’m Holly Black, an author of fantasy and speculative fiction, and I’m excited to be part of this community. Over the years, my work has been honored with the Nebula, Newbery, Mythopoeic, and other literary awards, but beyond the accolades, I’ve always believed the heart of writing lies in curiosity, imagination, and persistence. Fantasy has given me the freedom to explore power, fear, desire, and the darker corners of human nature through worlds that feel both impossible and strangely familiar. I joined this space because I love conversations about storytelling, worldbuilding, character complexity, creative process, and the messy reality of writing books. Whether you’re outlining your first story or deep into revisions, I know how challenging and rewarding the creative journey can be. Looking forward to connecting with fellow writers, sharing insights, and hearing about the worlds you’re building.

@Holly Black Hello Holly, it's a pleasure to have you here. Your reflections on fantasy as a way to explore both the extraordinary and the deeply human are truly inspiring. The way you describe storytelling as an exploration of power, fear, and desire resonates strongly, and it's encouraging to hear someone with such remarkable accomplishments emphasize curiosity, imagination, and persistence above all. I'm looking forward to learning from your insights on worldbuilding, character development, and the creative process. It's always valuable to hear how experienced authors navigate the challenges and rewards that come with writing. What aspect of storytelling do you find the most challenging, even after all your years of experience?
Welcome!
