Eid ul-Adha Qurbani 2025
If you're doing everything yourself, you're not leading, you're limiting.
Great entrepreneurs don't just work hard, they build systems and empower others. Delegation isn’t weakness; it’s strategic strength. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ delegated responsibilities to the Sahabah based on their unique strengths. He trusted others to lead, teach, and manage and the Ummah grew because of it. Are you holding onto tasks that someone else could do 80% as well as you? What’s one thing you’ve delegated that freed up you growth?

Started grinding at the age of 10, reverted at 13, getting married at 16? + Hijrah?
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu, I just wanted to share a bit about my journey and what I’m working on. My name’s Diederick (Umar), and I’ve been into video editing since I was like 10 years old. I started with basic stuff on Movavi Video Editor nothing fancy, just learning the ropes. SubhanAllah, it’s crazy how far I’ve come since then. When I was around 13, I was going through some tough stuff dealing with school problems, getting bullied, and just feeling lost. Alhamdulillah, that’s when Allah subḥānahu wa ta'alā guided me to Islam, and honestly, it was the best decision of my life. For the past year and a half, I kind of lost track just wasting time and chasing dopamine, to be honest. But recently, I decided to get serious about video editing again. I’ve been putting in hours and hours at my PC, learning and improving my skills. The most important part for me is making sure it’s all done in a HALAL way so I can get the barakah from Allah (swt). Right now, I’m 15, and Alhamdulillah, I’ve had the chance to work with some big names and companies. I’m also working towards making Hijrah, hopefully in about 10 months, depending on when I can do my school exams bi’ithnillah. One thing that really bothers me, though, is seeing so many people making amazing edits but using haram stuff like music, musical sound effects, or showing faces (eyes). I want to make a change, insha’Allah, and teach other Muslims how to edit videos in a way that’s pleasing to Allah subḥānahu wa ta'alā. I’m planning to build a community where I can teach how to make a stable 4- to 5-figure income through halal video editing, bi’ithnillah. I want to help more Muslims create content that earns the pleasure of Allah while also being successful in this dunya. Jazakumullahu Khairan for the support and encouragement. Please keep me in your duas, and I hope to benefit the Ummah with this!

Allahumma baarik brother Umar — your story is incredibly inspiring. May Allaah bless your journey, increase you in sincerity and skill, and make your efforts a source of barakah for both you and the Ummah. It’s heartening to see a young brother so committed to excellence and to staying within the boundaries of what’s halal. May Allah make your Hijrah easy and grant you success in both deen and dunya. Keep going strong akhi — you're already making a difference. May Allah protect you from burnout and always keep your intentions pure.

🎓 How I Went to University Without a Student Loan (Riba-Free)
Back in 2010, I applied for university and received several offers — I eventually chose City University London. Coming from an Asian background, higher education carried a lot of weight, and the family pressure to attend was strong. However, student finance in the UK involves riba (interest), which is impermissible in Islam. Despite the excitement of getting in, I made a clear decision: if attending university meant taking a riba-based loan, then I would not go. While looking for alternative funding, I came across the Sir John Cass’s Foundation Lord Mayor’s Scholarship Programme — a scholarship offering £7,000 per academic year to students from disadvantaged backgrounds. By the grace of Allah, I was accepted into the programme and Alhamdulilah, I was able to complete my degree without involving myself in riba. It serves as a reminder that staying within the boundaries set by Allah — even when it's difficult — can lead to unexpected ease and provision through His mercy. As Allah says in the Qur’an: وَمَن يَتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ يَجْعَل لَّهُۥ مَخْرَجًۭا وَيَرْزُقْهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَحْتَسِبُ “And whoever fears Allah – He will make for him a way out. And will provide for him from where he does not expect.” (Surah At-Talaq 65:2–3) 📌 A reminder that seeking the halal — even when it requires sacrifice — is never without reward. Have you come across a moment where choosing what’s right led to an outcome you never expected? Feel free to share your reflections below 👇

🌤️ Struggling with Laziness? Tap into the Most Blessed Hours of the Day
One of the most effective ways to combat laziness isn’t found in productivity hacks — it’s rooted in our daily connection with Allah and how we start our mornings. The Prophet ﷺ said: اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لأُمَّتِي فِي بُكُورِهَا "O Allah, bless my Ummah in the early morning hours." (Tirmidhi) 💭 This hadith is a powerful reminder: the early hours after Fajr are blessed, productive, and filled with immense reward. Starting your work, study, or goals during this time not only aligns you with barakah, but also helps guard you from the grip of procrastination. Here’s how to put it into action: 🌄 Begin your day with morning adhkaar (remembrance) — it protects your heart, sharpens your focus, and brings tranquility. 📝 Stay awake after Fajr if possible, and dedicate even 30–60 minutes to purposeful work — whether it's seeking knowledge, planning your day, or progressing in your goals. 🎯 Make your intention clear each morning: “Ya Allah, I’m working to please You and make the most of the time You’ve blessed.” You’ll be surprised how much clarity, momentum, and consistency flow from this small but impactful habit. May Allah grant us energy, sincerity, and barakah in our time.
