Regular meet-ups for those in London
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته Hope you all are well ان شاء الله Alhamdulillah me and Hassan met up yesterday and the brother hosted me very kindly. Although I’m still quite inexperienced in videography, he helped and taught me some tips to get me on my feet so may Allah bless him greatly. InshaAllah, we were hoping we could make this type of meet-up session a more regular thing, and with more of you brothers coming as well - we could learn and benefit from each other while getting some practice and recording in at the same time InshaAllah. If anyone’s interested in this then let’s shout each other inshaAllah May Allah bless you all greatly and increase you all in prosperity and khayr 🫶🏽 ameen

I’m here at the location, where exactly should we meet?
One year in…
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته Today marks 1 years since I started filming and photography! Just wanted to share two things I’ve learnt from my first year in the trade: 1- Be humble: Yes, you may have spent 2k on a new camera and another 1k on a laptop (example), thats doesn’t mean you're entitled to payment! If you don’t know how to use the equipment at hand… youre worthless. Clients pay you based on what value you can provide, so work for free, build your skills and then they’ll pay your bills!! 2 - Be patient: it might take a few weeks/months to recieve your first client, you might be losing money consecutively… trust me, its worth it. Being able to work for yourself, paying things for your family etc, you’d love the feeling! Here is a highlight reel of how my year went: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C8PDB_dN21k/?igsh=MTc3anp4ZmRoeHk2OA==

jazakallah khair akhi, this is good advice, esp for complete beginners like myself
‏اَلسَلامُ عَلَيْكُم وَرَحْمَةُ اَللهِ وَبَرَكاتُهُ‎
Salam brothers, my name is Hadi, and I look forward to getting to know all of you إِنْ شَاءَ ٱللَّٰهُ In all honesty, I have zero experience in videogrophy, or even photography for that matter, but I have always had an interest in it and a creative side of myself that's been waiting to be embraced - so consider this my stepping stone. I'm hoping to learn the skills of videography side-by-side with the business aspect here إِنْ شَاءَ ٱللَّٰهُ so if you have any tips or advice for me on how to get started and get my feet into videography as someone who's had no experience with a camera and editing videos, please please kindly drop them below. So far from what I've seen online, I can get started with just my phone camera? (I have a iPhone 13 pro) Apparently it's also better not to use the primary phone camera, but a third party camera app (e.g. moment pro) because the primary one is on auto and doesnt givr you full control over settings/features. Please, literally any advice or just useful information is completely welcome from me, as I really am a complete beginner and feel slightly nervous 😅 بارک اللہ فیک
