What’s Stopping You From Creating Right Now?
Hey SOFA fam —It’s been really energizing to see so much life in this group lately. All the drawings, process posts, design shares… it's inspiring. But I’ve gotta be honest — these past few weeks have been tough for me creatively. My day job has been demanding, and by the time I finally get a moment to myself, I feel too drained to sketch or finish a drawing. I always tell others to “just get in some reps,” even if it’s only 10 minutes. But lately, I’ve been struggling to follow that advice myself. I haven’t felt the motivation, and that’s hard to admit. So I’m putting this out there —Do you ever feel like this too? When the inspiration just isn’t there, when life gets overwhelming… what helps you push through? What gets you back to the page? Would love to hear your thoughts — maybe we can all learn a little something from each other. – Corey

Thank you for posting this @Corey Jones. I have also experienced this lately. But with many useful suggestions and comments from everyone, it really gives me the inspiration to continue drawing!
Studies after Charles Dana Gibson
When I did these studies, I realised how much I enjoy artworks that tell a story. I had such a good time working on the expressions and gestures of the figures—Gibson’s characters are full of life! His elegant “Gibson Girls” with their proud posture and exquisite hair are so inspiring, and those hilarious men with their exaggerated expressions made the whole process even more fun. Drawn with brush pen, ballpoint pen, and fineliners.

Amazing work! 🔥
ART HISTORY
I get that not everyone that loves the craft of creating art also loves the deep dives and stories behind their favorite pieces or even art history period but for those as interested in Art History as I am, I recommend two youtube channels in particular. "Great Art Explained" does just that and goes deeper into the stories and meanings behind the Rock Star paintings weve all seen before. "Inspiraggio" on the other hand tends to focus on the "deep tracks" discussing unknown works by major artists. Check em out Great Art Explained - YouTube Inspiraggio - YouTube

Amazing! I love how unique they are. 🔥
Convergence!
Just finished this today — I’m happy with how it turned out! I used ballpoint pens and coloured pencils, with some digital tweaks at the end to bring it all together.
