@Sarai Wallis That is a great question Sarai! Honestly, these terms are often used interchangeably because they’re so similar! Both a birth coach and a doula are there to support you emotionally, physically, and with information before, during, and sometimes after labor. The main difference? “Doula” is the more widely recognized term, and it really emphasizes the holistic, non-medical side of care. A “birth coach” might focus a bit more on guiding you through specific techniques to use during labor, but at the end of the day, both roles are all about you and your journey. Here’s What a Doula/Birth Coach Does: - Emotional Support: We’re here to help you feel calm, confident, and empowered; whether that’s through calming your nerves, cheering you on, or just holding space for you. -Physical Support: Think massage, positioning, breathing techniques, and other comfort measures to help you manage pain and stay as comfortable as possible. -Information & Advocacy: I’ll help you understand what’s happening during labor, advocate for your wishes, and make sure your voice is heard every step of the way. -Non-Medical Role: Just to be clear, I’m not a medical professional, my role is to support you, not to perform clinical tasks. A Few Nuances: -Terminology: “Doula” is the more traditional term, while “birth coach” might focus a bit more on coaching you through the process of labor. -Training: Some birth coaches might specialize in specific techniques, but my approach as a doula is all about adapting to your needs and providing holistic support. At the end of the day, my goal is to make sure you feel supported, empowered, and confident as you bring your little one into the world. Let me know if you have any questions—I’m here for you! 💕 G.
Did you know this...?!?!
Hello beautiful Mamas!👋💖 Here’s a fun fact: I was *"Today's years old"* when I learned this! 🤯 The full-term uterus is the strongest muscle in the human body! Oh yeah, ladies. Move over, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson—there’s a new champ in town, and it belongs to US mamas! 💪👑 Let’s break it down with some more amazing facts about the powerhouse that is YOU: - 🏆 The Uterus: During labor, the uterus generates about 100-400 mmHg of pressure to push out your baby. That’s like lifting a small car! 💥 - 💖 Superhuman Healing: After giving birth, your uterus shrinks back to its original size in just 6-8 weeks. Talk about a bounce-back! 🔄✨ - 🌟 Built for Life: The uterus can stretch up to 500 times its original size during pregnancy. Imagine going from the size of a pear to holding a whole watermelon! 🍐➡️🍉 - 💪 Muscle Magic: The uterus is the only organ that can grow an entirely new organ (the placenta) to support your baby. How’s that for multitasking? 🧠✨ - 🌈 Hormone Powerhouse: During labor and delivery, your body releases endorphins—natural painkillers that are 10 times stronger than morphine! 💊💥 That’s right, mama, your body is literally designed to help you through this! 💖 So the next time you’re feeling low or like it’s too much, remember this: You possess the strongest muscle ever created by the Lord and hormones that could outpower a pharmacy! He gave that title to US women! Hoo rah! 🙌✨ Now go get ‘em, tiger! 🐯💖 You’re a warrior, a creator, and a miracle-worker—never forget that, sis! 💕 ❤️ G.

Good afternoon! TGIW!
Hello Mama Tribe, Halfway thru the week mamas! Give yourself a pat on the back, a high five in the mirror and tell that gorgeous woman staring back at you that she's doing AMAZING! 👏 Between endless traffic and keeping little humans alive, I hope you've taken some time to fill your cup and fuel your body everyday!! If not, here's how I do it, since I always get asked "how do you do it?!?!" When it starts to get chaotic around these parts and I feel frustration starting to set in, I take a quick breath and I have a Jesus pep talk real quick first. It helps remind me that this is how I must make Him feel on a daily basis. Then, I use a trick my husband taught me and I imagine my kiddos like little drunk people, think mini Jack Sparrows. 🥴 Blame it on the a-a-a-a-a-alcohol. Yes, this includes my Bigs as well. It makes everything less stressful, less pressure = more love❤️. When you know someone has had a bit too much of the juice, mercy and patience are easier to come by especially after a Jesus Pep Talk. 🙏🏽 Hope this comes in handy for the rest of the week!! It beats the alternative, I promise!! Let's rock the rest of this week ladies!! ❤️ G.
