Daily Check-In x Weekly Wrap up - Saturday 25 July
I realised it didn't make much sense doing both a daily wrap up and a weekly wrap up all on a saturday, so from here on I'll be combining the posts for saturday / sunday so you only have to respond to one each day to maintain your streak. I just want everyone to take 10 minutes to truly reflect on the week gone by. Don't just start typing immediately, maybe get up and pace around for a bit to help you deeply think "How did this week truly go, and was there anything else I could have realistically done to make it better?" It would be easy to just say "got some work done, but was a bit distracted so want to work on that for next week" but this isn't training our metacognition skills which we all know is what will allow us to really quickly find the root cause of our issues. A good reflection here will make the weekly plan so much easier tomorrow (feel free to complete that right off the back if you get into a flow state and have a lot of good epiphanies, just remember to post it tmr so i can have a gander)

Day 2 During this week, I did really well at grasping the motivation to read my book for the summer, actually comprehending the chapters I read, and asking myself how this could relate back to the main theme of the overall book, by next week I probably wouldn't remember anything that I have read of what the book was truly explaining to me. It really helped me to stop, remember the information I was reading, understanding it, and then revising that information I gave myself within the end of reading each chapter. Most days I do stay in bed all day and sometimes bed rot and just scroll throughout social media without going outside and getting any breath of fresh air, which I also think is a hindrance upon my recent studies. Mostly overall the week has taught me something new every day whether it's my job, school, or hanging around people Next Week: I will definitely try to gain more focus as I am coming upon my senior year in a couple of weeks, and during the little time I have left I will also grasp the motivation to finish my summer reading book and mentally prepare for this exam that I have over the book by remembering the information I read, understanding what the information is asking/ saying, and revising the information in a way that I can learn it so I will be well prepared for my exam coming up soon. I will also try to invest in the planner so I can keep up with important dates.
🗓️ Weekly plan 20-27 July
The absolute best way to ensure you make steady progress week to week is to be clear on what it is success and progress actually looks like. So every week I like to sit down and reflect on the question 'What would I have to get done over the next 7 days to be able to consider this week a massive success?'. From there, every single night when you plan out the next day you will have the ultimate clarity over exactly what it is that you should be doing as you can just tick off the most important tasks from your weekly plan. The added bonus is that if you submit weekly plans I will be able to review what tasks you are setting yourself and whether they are going to be sufficient to take you towards your goals. So every week I will be tasking you all with answering this question. If you are unsure about how to do so, consult the guide i made (link below) https://www.skool.com/bloom-learning-3643/classroom/39cbaba3?md=0d60a79e2b554a99893bf1f35fc17d8e Tip: Include about 1-2 hours of learning new skills from the community per week, and 5-10 hours of practicing them throughout the week (by adjusting your regular study so that you are also practicing these new skills)

I want to complete my reading before the summer is over - understand what I am reading and comprehend to moral of the story that I am reading - Also have a knowledgeable understanding about my courses that I'm taking for my senior year - Procrastination is one of my weaknesses when it comes to schoolwork - understanding that I have to get things done for my senior year, so I won't be scrambling to do things last minute - Improve on my ACT score by getting the right study tactic down - I think I need organization and great study skills to improve on this year
Daily Check-In - Friday 24 July
Drop a comment below giving a marginal gain that you've had from today and a mini goal that you have for tomorrow. Copy and paste this formula below: Day [X] 🔥 Today: [one short sentence] Tomorrow: [one small, specific goal] If you're new, add the streak next to day, the win that you have had in 'today', and the goal in 'tomorrow'. Even if today wasn't great, remember a marginal gain doesn't have to be some big achievement; even recognising a weakness that you can work on tomorrow will get you closer to your goal. Remember, always progress over perfection

Harry McKerihan - About me
Hey everyone! I'm Harry, founder of Bloom Learning. I created Bloom with a goal of sharing the gift of effective learning habits with as many as possible to help create a world where education is accessible and attainable to everyone. A bit about me: - I'm based in Sydney, Australia - I'm a current 1st year student at the University of Sydney, studying a Bachelor of Science (Advanced), doing a double major in neuroscience and physiology (though I'm about to switch out physiology for psychology lol) - My goal is to continue to study a Master's of Education, a PhD in educational psychology and become a global leader in learning science, updating the current education system, which has been unchanged for over 100 years. - I'm also a big sports fan. I've played golf since I could walk, I love working out, and I'm a mad Canberra Raiders fan (Raiders slander will not be tolerated... jk). I also love AFL and Cricket (but only test). - I'm very much looking forward to getting to know all of you! Ik introductions seem rly cringe and often quite daunting, but I promise this is for a reason. If we can work to break down some of the barriers that exist between us, we can develop a really close knit community. Pro tip: After you post your introduction, find a few other people who seem to have similar interests to you (ie similar subjects, similar extracurriculars etc) and introduce yourself personally. Failure to post an introduction, and I will track you down (only half joking...)
