Brief introduction with my voice!
It's dirty, oily and gross... but that's how I prepare and process rocks. Mineral oil is the medium for cutting... water is the coolant for grinding and polishing. Support your local lapidary club! 12" saws are around 2000 dollars.. trim saws are another 800, and a good cabbing machine, lortone or cab king are at least 2200. It is quite an investment. Plus consumables.

Thank you so much! So a basic startup investment is going to set one back about 5-6k it looks like! I personally would have to build a shed for this too haha but seriously. Thank for the tour!

Can you do a couple videos of the machines you use and approximate price range of said machines?
Amethyst hunting
A local spot, known for druzy amethyst clusters, was torn apart by excavation... so i went to see what I could find. I found a ton in a pile. The host rock is serpentine. Rock hounds for life!

@Dustin Moro all the claims around here have been turned into businesses. It’s a minimum of $50 to step through the door. It’s dumb.

@Dustin Moro exactly.

Went gold panning but it was cold.. Canada eh. In the 1800s Chinese miners cleared these river rocks, looking for gold. There are terraces of river rocks. I found a green one. I cut it. Here it is.

@Dustin Moro I have a couple red beads I planned to make earrings out of. And a couple all blue ones. I keep forgetting they exist though because for some reason they aren’t with the others of their size. I should fix that haha
