I lost 6-1 at the weekend and got blamed for every goal. Four of them came from fouls in or near the box — that was not my fault. I almost saved the penalty, it just slipped out of my hands. Even then, a teammate still blamed me after the match. But here is the truth: One bad game does not define you. One scoreline does not show how good you are. One unfair comment does not make it your fault. Every great keeper has been in this position. They kept going — and so will you. What matters most is that you show up again and keep trying and I think that is something ever keeper needs to hear. Tell them that you’re proud of them. Tell yourself that you’re proud of yourself. Never let any negative words get to you. You have to keep pushing!
