We move through dozens of “doorways” every day—leaving your bedroom, getting into your car, walking into work, entering a store, sitting down at a table. Usually, your body crosses the threshold while your mind is already somewhere else. Today, make one doorway a deliberate reset point. Choose one doorway you will encounter today. Before crossing it: 1. Stop. Don't immediately walk through. 2. Feel your feet. Notice the pressure beneath each foot. 3. Take one normal breath. Don't force it to be deep. 4. Look at the doorway. Notice its shape, color, texture, or light. 5. Ask yourself: “What am I carrying into the next room that I don't need to carry?” Don't force an answer. Maybe it's frustration. Maybe it's yesterday. Maybe it's a conversation you're replaying. Maybe it's absolutely nothing. Then cross the doorway. This isn't about making yourself calm. It's about interrupting autopilot. That tiny moment can become a surprisingly powerful place to choose your next action instead of automatically reacting.
