MIDWEEK TRAINING CHECK-IN 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️
We’re halfway through the week, so take a minute to look at what you’ve actually done—not just what was written in the plan. Answer these three questions: 1️⃣ What have you completed so far? 2️⃣ Has anything changed since you planned the week? Work, family, sleep, illness, a niggle or simply how you’re feeling? 3️⃣ Does the rest of the week need adjusting? Changing the plan isn’t automatically a sign that you’ve failed. Sometimes moving, shortening or removing a session is the most disciplined decision you can make. The goal is not to protect every individual workout. The goal is to keep the overall training moving in the right direction. Post your midweek update below, and include anything you’re unsure about for the rest of the week. 👇

This is a good check in. I’ve been getting back into running and boxing after HYROX, while work has made recovery something I need to pay closer attention to. For the rest of the week, I’m keeping the sessions I can do well and giving myself room to shorten one if my body needs it. I’d rather make that call now than force a workout and lose more time later 🏃🏾‍♂️
QUICK MONDAY QUESTION 👇
Which part of marathon training do you currently understand the least? 1️⃣ Choosing the right training plan 2️⃣ Knowing what pace to run at 3️⃣ Building the long run 4️⃣ Fuelling properly 5️⃣ Strength training 6️⃣ Moving sessions when life gets in the way 7️⃣ Returning after illness, injury or a missed week 8️⃣ Tapering and preparing for race day There’s plenty of information available about marathon training. The difficult part is often knowing what applies to you, what matters most and how all the pieces fit together. Comment with the number, or tell me what else you’re struggling to understand. I’ll use the answers to shape the coaching content I share in here over the next few weeks. 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

#7 because you don’t want to lose your fitness but you know you need to also ease your way back to it
What's one running habit that's made the biggest difference for you?
It doesn't have to be complicated. It could be: - Slowing down your easy runs - Strength training - Following a plan - Sleeping more - Eating before long runs Share one thing that's helped you become a better runner. 👇 Someone else might need to hear it.
