Burnout, Books, and Breaks 🔥📗🥱
Do you have something you do to relax, like reading, writing, or walking? As you may know, I put a lot of energy into my 1-on-1 lessons and this community. I want to help people feel confident and creatively free when picking up the guitar. But it’s not always easy. This month I almost worked a bit too much. Luckily, I saw it coming and took some time off to read and rest. What's your favourite down-time activity?

Thank you for sharing so much! You are so smart to spend time reading as it helps keep your mind active and curious. As for sleep, that is it critical to keeping ourselves healthy; just as much as exercise and diet. As we have discussed, I use cross-training and golf to get my mind clear of work and the overall stresses of life. Guitar is also part of that as I enjoy attempts to be creative - it helps keep my mind active too.

👋 Hey everyone! Here’s a creative chord progression challenge for the weekend. This time, i have a fingerstyle riff for you. Step 1: Watch the video below. Step 2: Learn ONE of the 3 riff variations - the easy, medium or hard one. Step 3: Make up your own ending for it, record and share it under this post! ❕Skip to 0:58 for the easy difficulty riff. ❗Skip to 1:55 for the medium difficulty riff. ‼️ Skip to 3:08 for the hard difficulty riff. ✨ Let’s see what cool ideas we can come up with together! P.S. I said "G form" at 3:57 when i referred to the chord voicing. But it's actually C form. If this is greek to you, it just means you haven't learned the layered method yet. If so, no need to worry about it.

Never. Actually looked away to get the "feel" to help stay on target.

@Nikola Gugoski yes, I like to use my chorus pedal to help make it sound fuller.

Picked up the guitar at 15, yet still trying to figure it out! Grateful to start over in 50s.
