New Month, New Wins! What's Your Goal?
Happy New Month everyone, Wishing you all a month full of progress, opportunities, and lots of wins. I'm curious what's the one goal you're focused on achieving this month? Drop it below I'd love to see what everyone is working toward and cheer each other on. Let's make this month count.

Two wins for the month. One was my kiddo taking the StrengthsFinder for Students assessment and having a call with a Strengths Coach and actually enjoying it. Second was doing two more college visits in California and her having settled on her application list (with two tiers of preference within).

@Ash Stonebraker No, not externally at least. Out loud, she made two tiers (3 schools in top tier and 2 in second tier), and that's as narrow as it should get until she knows where she's accepted and what their merit packages look like.
Whose scholar just finished 11th grade?
I want to hear from you. How many Class of 2027 parents do we have in the Society?

Mine hasn't quite finished 11th -- school doesn't technically end until June 11. But, we're close!

@Beverly Cribbs No major concerns. We've got a few more visits lined up for June, and then will start to tackle essays and common app preparation. I am trying to be chill about the essay, but it's the area where I'm most focused on getting my kiddo to not procrastinate.
How Do You Feel Right Now About the College Process?
One thing I've learned after 25+ years in school counseling and higher ed: the college process doesn't feel the same for every family. Some of you are just starting to think about high school course selection. Some of you have a junior who's stressing about the SAT. And some of you have a senior who just got their financial aid letter and has NO idea what any of it means. That's why I'm asking — where are you right now? Drop a comment with your student's grade level AND the #1 thing on your mind about their college journey. Don't overthink it. There are no wrong answers here. I'll read every single one — and over the next few weeks, I'll be creating content and resources directly based on what you share. This community exists for YOU. Let's make sure it actually hits home. 👇

11th grader in our family, finishing out junior year -- doing my best to straddle the line between stressing the importance of finishing strong and not totally stressing her out. And also doing my best to let these last weeks of school pass before I push too much more college-oriented tasks on her.
