My 4th Video on LinkedIn
Posted my fourth video on LinkedIn yesterday. I had committed to myself to getting something up within today and had a busy schedule, so this was completely unscripted (though following the format) and I did it in one take, which compared my previous three attempts is an absolute miracle. I thought I had lowered the camera from the last time but see that it's still too high and will adjust on the next one. I still want to have a better background and I also want to experiment with a text thumbnail. Trying to do one per week. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/garyb_resume-recruitment-japan-activity-7036954178618875904-1d4a This one seems to be performing the best of the 4 so far. In less than 24 hours: 2,775 impressions, 1393 views, but only 695 viewing minutes, 30 reactions, 4 comments, and 3 reposts. My CTA in this was to reach out for a copy of the resume and a Loom video commenting on it and I'm getting requests mainly from people I don't know, which is great, and new connection requests, also great.

@Jordan Blackman After that 4th video I ended up going back to the habit of scripted video because I tend to ramble, have more uhms/ahs, want to record accurately and quickly, and do minimal editing. My thing has been aiming for a 3 minute video done in one take using a script which follows your formula. I only need to cut the beginning and end of the take in Quicktime and it's good to go. That said, scripted is not as natural as unscripted and I wish I could nail a topic without a script. I can memorize and naturally deliver an opening hook and my self intro, but when I get to the "meat" things fall apart unless I have a script. I'm going think things through and figure out a way forward--I'm thinking about doing short stories rather than "tips for strategies and tactics" for my audience, so it would be hook ---> self-intro --> short story ---> lesson learned. I'm pretty sure I can do the short story unscripted and naturally as long as I can keep it super short. Back to the drawing board....
I’m Turning 1 Hour Into $1K— Without a service or a client. Wanna watch?
If you’ve landed clients from short-form videos—that’s a win. But here’s what I've found... No matter how many clients I get, I haven't actually escaped the time-for-money trap. 🔄 You book more calls, do more client work, and your time gets eaten up fast. That's why I'm diversifying with evergreen revenue streams... 🔹 No more requirement of constant input 🔹 Assets can be sold later on (or purchased, for that matter) 🔹 Leverage AI + your own skills for an edge That's my plan and I'm putting it to the test in my new Skool community— It's for people like me who want to own digital assets that create lasting revenue. I call people like us "Renegades." In the group I'm doing a "1 Hour to $1k Challenge" where I'm building my next $1k in revenue with no clients and no service. Want to watch? 👉 Drop “RENGADE” below, and I’ll send you the invite. It's free for y'all btw. (One request: I'm looking for folks who will engage and help me build a vibrant and active community, so if that's not you, no worries but maybe not a fit.)

I’m in for this week. Thanks!
Tired of prospects ghosting you? 👻
I've been there. Whether it's after a great initial consultation, a promising DM conversation, or sending that carefully crafted proposal... that prospect silence hits hard. Each unanswered message represents potential income slipping away. And let's be honest – following up can feel awkward. I never want to be too pushy, but I also don't want to lose the opportunity. Questions you might wonder: - "Should I follow up or are they just not interested?" - "What do I even say that doesn't sound desperate?" - "When is the right time to send another message?" - "Am I being annoying if I reach out again?" Sound familiar? That's exactly why I built something to solve this problem. 🎉 Introducing my free follow-up message generator! It's specifically designed for freelancers and service providers like us who need to keep conversations moving forward with potential clients. Whether you're following up on a quick message or a detailed proposal, this tool: ✨ Tells you exactly what to say (goodbye awkward messages) ⏰ Suggests the perfect timing for your follow-up 💪 Helps you follow up confidently without feeling pushy 🎯 Works for both email and social media DMs 🆓 And yes, it's completely FREE! (for current members of this group.) I built this because I was tired of losing opportunities due to poor follow-up, and I wanted to share it with our community. No strings attached, but I'd sure love your feedback on it if you do give it a go. Want to try it out? 📌 Drop a comment below and I'll send you the link! Let's turn those ghosted conversations into actual clients! 👻➡️💼 TLDR: If you've ever lost a potential client because you didn't know how to follow up effectively, this tool is for you. Don't let another opportunity slip away!

I ghosted this post for two months but I’m interested. :-) Thanks Jordan.
Still want Zoom coaching to help you get clients in 2025?
Quick update on our Thursday 4pm PST sessions: While I've enjoyed the deep conversations with our dedicated few (you know who you are 😊), attendance has been... let's just say intimate enough that my ego is considering a new career in personal training. Since these haven't gained much traction, I'm thinking of wrapping them up - those gym weights aren't going to lift themselves! Let me know in the comments if you are seriously planning to attend and want me to finish the last 5 sessions (or want something else?). No hard feelings - just want to make sure to put my energies in the right place.

Hi Jordan, thanks for putting me on the hot seat the other day. I truly appreciate it. I even make a LinkedIn post with a short video after our discussion. I won't be able to join you tomorrow but should be able to join next week if you decide to keep it rolling. Thanks for everything you do. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/garyb_careerclarity-happymondays-japan-activity-7275786236676489216-vs3o?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop
