Daily accountability update day 16 9/01/25
I can’t believe my last update was 12 days ago. I think that represents the shift I’ve been going through. I was hitting the solopreneur stuff pretty hard, then I shifted into studying for the CPA exam. Now I think it’s time for me to focus more heavily on full time employment. My burn rate through my savings is at about the 50% mark. This is the line I held mentally to shift into searching for full time work. The past few weeks I iterated on my website, got QBO certified, which led to lots of improvements to my service delivery model, then started studying for the CPA. I made some progress, but The CPA is a year long endeavor at the least. Landing clients may or may not start to happen for me, so I think I need to come down to earth for a bit and land a full time job even if I don’t want to stay there long term. I could work for my brother in law doing concrete work, or I could make twice as much doing controller work for some company I don’t care about until my solo work starts to pick up to a sustainable level. So tomorrow I’ll be calling some accounting recruiters and seeing if they have a good fit for me. Metrics will be: CPA Exam study hours: 4 hr goal Full time job search: 2 hr goal
