Bible’s accuracy discussion
I was having a wonderful discussion with Antti about the Bible’s accuracy. He was giving me his reasons why I should believe and I was giving my reasons why I don’t believe. My Reason’s being the historical and prophetic inaccuracies. One of his reasons included that the complex structures that sustain life points to a creator. Examples like these I’ve heard before but are not good enough evidence for me. Below is my last message I sent to Antti explaining why i detransitioned from Christianity. Your counterarguments and reasons why I should follow Christ are appreciated. “I was in the beginning stages of turning to God for reason and purpose. I was trying to convert my dad to turn to Christ and he asked me why he should. Faith wasn’t going to be a good enough reason for him so I did some major digging on the historical prophetic evidence outside of the Bible. I was always told the Bible is the inspired word of God and that the Bible is true and accurate. So how can there be any inaccuracies? I came across deutero-Isaiah, the lack of evidence of Jews enslaved in Egypt, the lack of evidence for a mass migration of the Israelites wandering in the desert for 40 or 50 years and no documentation of Herods killing of the innocence. There was something too about a census during the time of Herod that I think historically would not have happened, but I forgot the full details on that. I have not looked much into the evidence for a case against Jesus’s resurrection and sightings after his death”
