As someone that can be lazy on some days, easy dish ideas and ingredients seems good to cook, specially when i am down and don't want to, but i need to But i still prefer learning new cooking skills and technique over that.

@Viki McGee Written recipes is the way i am used to learn about cooking. But you're kinda lucky to learn this things since eleven. Because i was a self-taught people in my family don't care that much to teach me their ways, so the my only source of learning came late and all by myself.
How you usually like to cook potatoes?
The only thing i tried is to is to boiled on hot water without peeling the skin, because the skin is good to absorb the salt and makes the potatoes more firm. I also only tried to boiled with chouchou, a vegetable i don't know if anyone here knows, but it kinda have a dull taste and firm texture that is good to mix with potatoes. It is a very simple recipe, you cook until you feel the texture is on point. The only other combinations i had know is to bake with meat and pour meat sauce on the potatoes.

@Viki McGee I would love some recipes for potatoes. And here what a chouchou looks like. Being a vegetable native to Mexico and Guatemala, maybe just the america knows what it is.

I am Gabriel maier. I am from Brazil. I joined because i recently moved and wanted to learn news recipes. My level is that of a complete beginner, some days of cooking alone. I cook just for myself, and sometimes for a family of 5 when they are guests. Minced meat, because is so versatile as a canvas and is very good when you make it right. My favorite dessert is ice cream, because some variations are somewhat healthy, so i can eat 1 liter or 2 liter whole in a day without that much of a concern. My first time cooking minced meat, the recipe i take i had to adapt to my portion i was making and that wasn't working so i had to improvise and pour some things at taste. It come out great, aside from being a little too salty. My biggest failed on the kitchen was that one time where i tried to make pasta but just put salt and tomato sauce, without any other seasoning. So i was basically eating cooked dough with salted tomatoes in it. I want to learn how to season properly and make all this details, because i am already good at making the stuff or improvising. My average meal everyday: A full plate of pasta (half eaten in the image) and just a handful of beef. I hope the gym gods accept my offering. I really need to improve my diet.
