Coffee, Anger, and Entitlement
Sitting here at my desk thinking about how much entitlement there is in the remote high-ticket sales space right now The amount of "I should" be thinking is absolutely insane. Beliefs Might Sound like 👇 - I was successful in corporate and ran teams, so I should be able to go straight to closing. - I was successful at my last closing role - so I should be able to go straight to closing. - I've done well with this company in the past, so they shouldn't let me go, they should be loyal. - I was a top performer at another company, so I should be a top performer here - I wasted time on interviews before, so I don't want to do any more of them - Expecting a base salary (LOLOLOL) Many of you have asked for sales gigs, I ask for a loom video and ya'll go ghost mode. REALITY CHECK - NOBODY OWES YOU SHIT 💩 In sales, you are as good as your commission check. You are as good as your performance this month, this week, and today. It starts over at zero every single day. You wake up unemployed and you go out there and you find employment (YOUR NEXT SALE) I see a ton of you in my DMs asking for roles, even offering to work for free. I get the intention, and it sounds good. But you need to step up your game Learn to show your value, peak curiosity, and generate interest.... Be a sales professional and sell yourself, stop begging. Start Leading. OR ask for HELP Ciao Ciao, Mason

Mason, this hits hard and it's needed. The entitlement you're describing is really just pride wearing a business suit. Pride and humbleness don't mix, and humbleness is the key to growth. When someone says "I should be closing already" or "they should be loyal to me," that's a lack of gratitude for the opportunity to actually get better. I'm getting into sales myself right now and getting rejected left and right. Every no just tells me I have more work to do on myself. You can complain about it, which is what average people do, or you can ask "what can I do that's under my control." That's the only question that actually moves you forward. Nobody owes anybody a closing role or a base salary just because of a past title. Show your value first. Appreciate is the word I'd throw in there too, not just should. Great post.

Hi everyone, I'm a private consultant. I help professionals get their performance back on track after a life setback. My approach to sales is simple, it's a dance where the goal is helping the other person make the right decision, even if that means they don't buy from me.
