Look out for Scams
I see some people in my community are offering to buy collection, or offering to buy NFT. Those are scams and let me and I'll remove them. You can look up the detail of how these work but they are 99.999% scams. stay safe! can't believe it's 2025 already. Time to get your skills to the next level!

Scammers really are everywhere these days. It happens in every community, especially as they grow. One way to deal with it is Skool’s new update that limits DMs to 10 people a week. You could also make it so members have to hit level 2 or 3 before they can DM, scammers and bots are usually too lazy to put in that effort. Hope that helps! :)

@Vince Salomon Merry Christmas! That’s awesome great to hear you’re making some improvements in accuracy and efficiency. Adding photography and color sounds like a fun challenge for 2025! What type of photography are you thinking of focusing on for your references?

Still working on this, what’s it still need? I’m going to detail the fur and give it a bluish background.

@J Needels That sounds awesome. I’m excited to see the update. Do you experiment with layering colors often, or was this something new you tried?

Hows everyone doing
Hi fellow artists, I haven't been posting anything too new lately since the material in this free course now should help and "run on its own" so to speak. Though I will keeper a closer eye on it in the coming weeks. Any questions, you can post under this thread. Thx! I might have some plans to do an advanced community with a lot more hands on approach for those who are more serious about improving. I'll keep you updated.

Hey, it’s awesome that the course is running on its own now! The advanced community sounds really exciting. What kind of activities do you have in mind for it?

@Victor Sun That sounds like an awesome idea—combining advanced concepts with live workshops and feedback.
New References to Practice
The cat is likely the simplest as its lighting is simple and dramatic. The horse takes on more of a middle tone range that requires more precision (it's more flat). Turtle is deceptively simple, and is mostly toward the dark range, but over all dynamic range is small, which means it is also some what flat and requires more precision to achieve that dark surface while convey the form. It is also great practice of depicting shiny surfaces (dark or not) with appropriate highlights at right places. So one is more straight forward full tone rage (cat). One is middle tone precision practice (horse). One is dark tone precision practice (turtle). As always, post your drawings in the appropriate section. They will also be added to the reference module later. Again one of the simplest test to see if your drawing is over all correct, is stand back 10 feet+ and see whether your drawing still looks 3d with the main form conveyed. Details are relatively simple, they may take more time but that's about it.

These references are a great way to practice different techniques! The turtle sounds like a tricky but fun challenge. Which one are you thinking of starting with?
