Sneak peek of the A0 Launcher
Agent Zero runs on Docker, that's the engine. But you shouldn't need to be a mechanic just to drive the car. Sneak peek at the upcoming A0 Launcher. One unified app to manage your instance, updates, and config. Docker stays under the hood, where it belongs.

@Alessandro Frau that makes sense. I adore the always-on access of hosting A0 on my server (working on setup for server #3 in fact) though it's indeed a very involved process. I realize it would be a lot easier to focus on a desktop install but I'm trying to future proof my agents to automate tasks behind the scenes while I sleep. I've already got them performing simple server updates and backups, and they've been incredibly helpful in troubleshooting one another when they break. Just so much incredible potential to be tapped! It's forever going to amaze me that this power is available to a non-coder newbie like me.

@Alessandro Frau as I'm about to set up A0 on a third server, is there a specific best practices guide by chance? I have had issues with CORS I believe it's called, with both of my installations, which required editing a config file to temporarily hard code my username and password just so I could get in. I'm guessing that's not how it's intended to be approached! Any guidance is appreciated!
Customizing prompts in Agent Zero šŸŽØšŸ–Œļø
We are working on the Subordinate Agents Editor, that will allow you to override default prompts and give custom instructions/knowledge to specialized AI agents right away, from the UI, just like you do with Projects. Meanwhile, use the `a0/agents/` directory as your reference, and let's go through the creation of a new agent. Easy way: ask A0 to look into a0/agents and walk you through the creation of your new set of prompts for the new agent. But let's see how it works internally. For example, look at `a0/agents/hacker/prompts`: notice how it overrides the environment and the main role of the agent with `agent.system.main.environment.md` and `agent.system.main.role.md`. 1 - Open the A0 File Browser 2 - In `a0/prompts` you’ll find all the default framework prompts. 3 - These cover every step of the pipeline, including things like the summarization prompt used when a chat gets too long. All of these can be customized if needed. 4 - Take your time to review what you actually want to override or edit, for instance, the communication prompt if you want the agent to output custom fields after ā€œThoughtsā€ or to change its thinking style, or again the role prompt to make it more robot-like "Executing task... Running code" in a concise way without conversational text. 5 - Copy only the files you intend to modify into a0/agents/your-agent/prompts/, and edit them there. Important: do not copy the entire a0/prompts folder into a0/agents/your-agent/prompts/. You don’t need all prompts whatever your use case is, because any file not present in your agent folder will fall back to the framework default. 6 - Once the new folder is created, your agent automatically appears in the Settings UI (first tab). The folder name becomes the agent name.

@Alessandro Frau this is so exciting! Seems I've discovered A0 at exactly the right point in its evolution! I'm hoping to get competent enough using this framework that I'll be able to start contributing to the project, since I very much appreciate all the work you guys have been doing to create Agent Zero and it would be nice to give back.

@Scott Graham interestingly, I'm aiming for similar outcomes! It would be a dream to be focused on big picture planning and outlining and storyboarding, hand off to the agentic army, then step back in to review and quality check the work before publishing.

Appearance customization for A0
As I now have two instances of A0 running on two different servers, I find myself constantly having to glance at the URL to determine which one I've got pulled up. It'd be REALLY nice if there'd be an easy way to customize the UI and favicon so we can tell them apart at-a-glance in a crowded browser tab lineup. I tried getting one A0 agent to update the background colors and favicon of the other on the other server, but it seems to really struggle in pulling that off. So I'll probably just resort to locating which CSS does what and do it manually--which kind of feels ironic to me, given what A0 does (semi-autonomous agents). Plus, I'm betting my personalization will get overwritten when the next update occurs. So if I may request: could there be a way to more easily personalize the UI, and have that personalization included in the Backup and Restore feature, pretty please?

@David Swan I did that--and it said it had...but no changes took effect!

@David Swan but nice to see you were able to! Maybe I just prompted it poorly.
Well, boyz will be boyz I guess -> A0 hacking guide
Sorry if this has been covered maybe needs a reboot: Is there some kind of disclaimer or indemnification needed to shield from lawsuits the use of A0 in malicious attacks? I don't think is necessary is it? I'm curious. I mean there is hacker stuff built into the system...soo...should be fine right?

oof. Yeah that's the ugly side of having powerful tools and freedom/access to use them as you wish. All it takes is one of these to hit mainstream teevee and next thing you know, there'll be a mob crying for takedown of Agent Zero.

@Scott Graham they sure as heck strike people for a whole lot less nefarious things!
