They have forged a deep friendship through their love of the martial arts. The bonds formed are testament to the power of the martial arts to bring people together."
Baguazhang QiGong/DaoYin and Standing exercises
The Original Video Description: "For the coming Dragon New Year I’m going to post a bit more than usual. Particularly about foundational training and Qi Gong. Xu Shifu taught an immense amount of QiGong/DaoYin. He always emphasized that every QiGong exercise he taught had martial connection. Baguazhang being a martial art means the martial side is the primary training and all other things whether they be health or spiritual etc filter through that. If you are practicing Baguazhang and it’s accompanying drills, QiGong, meditation etc but do not keep the martial aspects firmly at the core of your training then you lose what you are training and it isn’t Baguazhang and the art fades and can be lost in a waves of delusion. Here 徐世熙 demonstrates QiGong/DaoYin exercises linked to 掖掌 Ye Zhang. The second part, what he would call 功夫樁 GongFu post standing is a more intense standing method than general 站樁 that is focused on developing the body for martially engaging and grappling an opponent. Here he performs the stances high but they are generally performed much lower. I included brief ideas but not complete instructions as the exercises are more in depth - too much for this platform. Both of these exercises can build the abilities to gather and emit Qi and power both martially and otherwise when trained correctly and diligently. " -Marc Mastrandrea
