Outside of playing bass, what do you enjoy doing?
I’m curious, what do you enjoy doing outside of music? It’s easy to get so caught up in music and forget that we are all real people here. Let me know, what are you into outside of music?

@Caleb Wilson Cool! I drove a Ferrari 458 Italia at a track and that car was amazing. Ferrari would a dream car to own.

What I’m Practicing
Yes, Kingdom Bass family! I hope you are all well I’m trying a new format for this group that I hope y’all appreciate. I’m gonna start dropping short videos on simply what I’m practising at the moment and we can collectively as a community share what we’re practising what we’re working on and all improve together so yeah drop your thoughts on this in the comments.. This video was originally sent for my private students, but I thought it would be a cool idea to bring into here as well! What are you practising now?

@Caleb Wilson - A little backstory. Two years ago I signed up for his Blueprint group class. It was one year with a group of 6 other bass players. The teacher is a professional bass player, however it was not a good experience for me. It was crazy expensive. (10k) It did come with a lifetime access to everything on Scott's site. My goal is to play in church. If other opportunities come then praise God. However, I am content being a church bass player. I decided to go through this Ed Frieland course to get a better understanding of walking bass. This is more of a Jazz approach which I think will pay great dividends for me as I continue playing in church. Ed does a good job of explaining. I also like to know the why behind what I am doing. So, some of the things I have been doing and now know what and why. All of that to say, I do believe Scott is a powerful resource and there is something for every bass player. There is not much for a gospel bass player, however he has had several gospel guys on showing their craft.

@Caleb Wilson yeah I was truly disappointed it was not Scott or some higher level teacher. Gary, Danny, John, etc..lol
We’re back 👀
Yes, after almost a year hiatus. The group is reopening! I’m looking forward to growing the community and breaking down bass education for our church community 🙌🏾🙏🏾 Here’s a recent number system video to get us rolling. Let me know, what content do you want to see??

@Chris Alex - I have found that playing gospel music will help you improve. Especially old mass choir songs. Mississippi Mass Choir, Chicago Mass Choir, Georgia Mass Choir, Ricky Dillard Choir. Also, take the progression of any CCM and work on locking in that groove. You will be surprised what you come up with. Try slapping and popping, ghost notes, etc. those are all things that will help you when you don't know what to do.
What gospel/church songs do you have on repeat right now?
I want to know, find some inspiration for more to listen, play and breakdown if you want. I've been on a Fred Hammond and Hezekiah Walker loop recently. I just had a little play through with some ideas here. What are you listening to?
