Cloud Dancer opinions?
I really like the look of Pantone colour of the year Cloud Dancer - has anyone used it?
A professional designer sees this immediately. Most people don't.
When you walk into a room, what do you notice first? A) Colour B) Furniture C) Lighting D) Something feels right (or wrong) but you can't explain why My answer: D. After 40 years, I rarely notice colour first. I notice proportion, balance and whether the room "works". What about you?

I aspire to semi minimalism but end up with clutter - it drives me nuts!
What is the biggest interior design mistake you have ever made in your own home?
I'll start. After 40 years in design, I still occasionally buy something because I like it rather than because it is right for the room. Good design isn't about never making mistakes. It's about spotting them before they become expensive. What's yours?

A certain man !!! 😜😂
WC - The tech side & ageing in place.
I resolved Fiona's post below re a new WC under the stairs. The final image is an AI render, which of course has its uses but I would never rely on just AI. In fact if you look closely you can actually see how the new door to the WC is not tall enough (despite many trys) but prior to that I created a 3D model in Sketchup just to be sure that everything worked ok. In actual fact that WC would have relatively generous proportions V the minimum requirements. Just be aware that building contractors have to comply with building regulations so always double check! Another point to consider for us all making these changes is retaining a full sized shower/bath room on the ground floor of your home is very wise if you intend to stay there for lots of years - this principle 'Ageing in Place' is one I believe is very important & will keep in mind regardless what age a client is. Below is a very loooong video of the creation of the 3D model & a screenshot showing the relevant dimensions (& a nice man showing the scale 🧔‍♂️) & the final image. Feel free to ask questions or comments. x Eily

That is a very good point re future proofing - I may have a rethink on this move! Thanks Eily!
Under stairs WC
I am considering some reconfiguring of my ground floor - thinking of moving my WC to under the stairs - I’m not sure it will fit as it may be too tight a space - what would you recommend as measurements I should check so this isn’t just a WC for hobbits?

Thank Eily that’s very helpful - attached is a picture and a floor plan

Thanks Eily that’s fab and frees up the large area the current WC is taking up so I can extend the family room beside it - love the white paint and the woood floor too - really freshens up the area
