One little thing.
This time last year I had a minor but very painful back injury. Over the weekend I remembered one small thing my doctor told me: Don’t cross your legs when sitting. Not ever. There is obviously a good reason why, so I’ve tried to remember it. So far, so good — my back has been much better since then. Thank you, reformer Pilates. It reminded me that “one little thing” can apply to so much in life. So here is one little thing to make your home happier today: Remove something. Something you don’t use. Something you don’t love. Something that doesn’t make the room work better. Something that quietly annoys you every time you see it. Not a full clear-out. Not a big project. Just one thing. What one little thing could you remove from your home today?

The Leaderboard
Move up the leaderboard by engaging, posting and commenting on other people’s posts. I’ve renamed the first few levels: 1. Tyre Kicker 2. Cushion Fluffer 3. Furniture Mover 4. Paint Sampler 5. There are plenty more levels to name, and I’ve run out of ideas 😅 What should the next ones be? The funnier and more design-related, the better. 👇🏻

Cloud Dancer opinions?
I really like the look of Pantone colour of the year Cloud Dancer - has anyone used it?

I haven't tried it Fiona but will do soon. Sometimes I find that Pantone colours suit a warmer or brighter climate than ours - hope this one is more for us!

When you walk into a room, what do you notice first? A) Colour B) Furniture C) Lighting D) Something feels right (or wrong) but you can't explain why My answer: D. After 40 years, I rarely notice colour first. I notice proportion, balance and whether the room "works". What about you?

@Valerie Dunleavy So Valerie, would you prefer less furniture that you have currently? Or is everything absolutely essential?

@Caroline Redmond That’s great Caroline. Sometimes it’s just about the feeling. Design can be intangible & nearly impossible to articulate sometimes- gut feelings are usually correct.
