10 Free Questions to Boost Your Child’s 11+ Comprehension Skills + Final Spaces Left for Revision Bootcamp
Earlier this week, I shared on my main Facebook page that I’d be sending out 10 comprehension questions to everyone who signed up for my email list. If you didn’t get them and would like a copy, just leave a comment below, and I’ll make sure you receive them. This is a little sneak peek into what we’ll be doing during our 3-Day Comprehension Challenge in August. If your child is in Year 4 or Year 5, and you want them to develop deeper thinking and stronger answering techniques, you’ll find the challenge really valuable. We’ve already filled over 35 places, so if you’re planning to join, don’t wait too long! LJ families, you do not need to pay for the challenge, and you already know that! And if your child is in Year 5 and needs more structured revision support, our English Revision Bootcamp is running in August too, followed by the Maths Revision Bootcamp. It’s an intensive, small-group programme with live teaching, timed practice, exam strategy and includes a mock test with feedback. We’ve only got 5 places left, so please book soon if you’re interested. Links to the challenge and both the revision bootcamps are below in the comments. Feel free to comment if you have any questions at all. A quick note to all our Learning Journey families. I'll be emailing you today with details about next year’s programme, mock test plans, and everything else you need to know.

@Sabah Hadi Sorry I havent seen this yet?
Comprehension Challenge is coming!
Hi everyone, just a quick note to say I’ve emailed all parents who signed up for the August Comprehension Challenge. The workbook and downloadable question-type guide will be shared after the challenge. The Zoom link will be sent out closer to the date. For those on the Learning Journey Program, the Zoom link will appear in your calendar on School, and the workbook will be added to your Comprehension Masterclass in the classroom section afterwards. @Sheena Ager and I are so excited to run this again. One of the biggest things we work on is building real confidence, not overconfidence but the kind that comes from understanding, practice and curiosity. That’s what this challenge is all about. And if your child is in Year 5 and sitting exams in September, do check out the amazing English and Maths Revision Bootcamps. They’re led by experienced tutors who have helped students gain admission to QE, Wilson’s, and top independent schools. These are tutors who know exactly what works and how to get the best out of children just like yours. Feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions.

Pls can you advise the timings of the course and if a child can’t make a particular day will recording be shared? Or can they attend individual days for certain topics?

Hi Sabah. Thanks , this will be super useful. I’d like to register for these but it asks for a payment when adding to my basket..unsure how it recognises if we are part of the family enrolled in your programme.
Fit for 11+?
How can you tell whether your child is genuinely fit for 11+? My daughter is keen to learn but after about 6 weeks of starting 11+ preparation I realised that she needs a lot of support getting the basics right first. She still doesn’t know all her times tables and tackling 11+ topics feels like such a steep learning curve. I almost feel cheated by her school reports now, I thought she was at a better level than she actually is (or perhaps my expectations are too high?). Did anyone consider practicing the basic national curriculum at home before moving on to 11+? If so, which books and resources would be best? My daughter is in year 4.

You have time.. go slow and steady and do little and often. In year 4 start with the basics and build it up. No need for time pressure.. don’t worry she will get there.
Signups not possible today 😌
Folks, I have deactivated the sign-up links for the Year 4 and 5 programmes until tomorrow. I will be hopping on a flight this afternoon and will not be online to give you access to the class link. We had a parent sign up 2 hours before the class last week and he messaged me so we got that sorted. Phew 😅 I really don't want to use wifi in the air. I want to take some time to reflect and recoup. I am travelling to spend some time with my parents who are old, ill and going through some challenges. Do you ever switch offline or have no online hours/days? How does it make you feel?
