Growth Boost New Feature Update
quick update. i've been contacted by Skool team for feedback on the new feature. here is my reply (IF YOU WANT ME TO PASS ALONG ANY OTHER COMMENTS, LET ME KNOW): i have 3 major concern with the new feature: 1. i think ppl should be free to use it or not. and when they decide not to use it, it seems unfair to downgrade/discriminate them in the Discovery and Search. Also, it seems like paid groups will get better visibility vs free groups - that's also not fair. 2.i invest lot of time building "personal brand" on Skool - posting, commenting, teaching, presenting, networking in other communities. again, it seems unfair to pay Skool 30%, when people join my community because of my direct efforts. so, i believe, ppl joining from my profile or other communities should not be "taxed" at 30%. maybe, the way around it is introducing "owner's referral code". 3.this one is probably the biggest. i don't like to see comments being closed on posts. and in general, the way it was rolled out does not feel good. i choose to believe you are trying to do the good thing, and trying to take care of us. but i believe we should have a say in such major update - it's changing the rules of the whole game. and right now it feels like "take it or f*ck off" (see point 1).

@Lidia Axe yes, I asked Alayna on Tuesday about an organizational change management expert. She did not confirm. What they did before does not work at this scale. We’re in a whole new season and you can’t operate like the old one. Here’s the other thing I don’t think I have expressed enough. Mathematically 30% is 30%. Operationally it is much different. 30% to someone at $500k is $150k per month. That’s a huge amount unless you are a solopreneur. If you pay a team, that could potentially be the difference between hiring another team member for $150k a year when scale is necessary. 30% to someone making $100/mo is now $67 with Stripe fees. Then consider global exchange rates. Then consider hobby vs pro plans. Then consider on a Skool News edition last year, Sam & the team did research on hidden fees on other platforms. We were the lowest. This feature is toggled on. How many owners don’t watch Skool news or bother with Skoolers? I know a few. How many new Skool owners will join & not know to toggle this off? Now they are hit with hidden fees and there will be reputation leaks again. Now consider I do all my networking in groups. I’m a B2B provider for Skool owners. I spend 10-12 hours on Skool daily. If someone clicks my profile from a comment in a community, joins my community, I’m out 30% for work I did. Sam has acknowledged he understands the pain point here. He acknowledges there’s a problem and we agree… the only way out is through. But it makes me not want to network this way until they fix attribution. Or suffer further by toggling the boost off to avoid this and lose my first place spot on discovery for my keywords to someone who left the boost on. 😫😡 or worse yet, someone with a paid group. There went freemium??? And then… free groups get the boost without paying??? 🤔 confusion & mayhem.

@Lidia Axe yes and the responses from Tristram <last name> did not help their reputation. Some of Andrew's comments did not help with trust. Alayna deserves a raise or a huge bonus after the last few days. GEESH. AND BOTH... As all business owners grow, so much Sam. So must the team. We are not a startup anymore. The social proof done proved 200K times and more and how many millions of dollars already. Sam gets to grow from this just like we all do. How we choose to change our business plan, or not. How he gets to change... or not. Time will tell. Patience butterfly. Change comes eventually.
