Google Cloud is becoming Alphabet’s growth engine
- Alphabet beat revenue expectations in Q1, helped by a cloud business that is scaling quickly and becoming far more profitable. - Google Cloud revenue surged 63% to $20B, well ahead of estimates, while operating income climbed to $6.6B. - Management said enterprise AI became the primary growth driver for cloud for the first time. - Demand is so strong that the company said cloud revenue would have been even higher if it had enough compute capacity. - That demand is forcing Alphabet to spend aggressively. - The company bumped its 2026 CapEx outlook to $180B to $190B and expects another significant increase in 2027.

Nice!
On the fence
I have always followed this rule when investing "KISS" it. I know it sounds funny but that phrase means "Keep It Simple Stupid" and that's been my approach towards the financial market. I've been investing in the same stocks monthly for the past 3 years XEI.TO and VDY.TO , broad indexes dividend ETF as I still consider myself a NEWBIE. But recently my finger has been itching to get into high dividend covered-calls ETF as supplemental income wise it looks attractive but I'm also aware that there's not much growth. So I want to know, do you KISS? Yes or no, AND do you have a high dividend covered-calls ETF in your portfolio?

I like high dividend ETFs and was in the process of evaluating the different ETFs & Dividend Kings.
SpaceX IPO coming up - Should you buy?
There are a few mega AI IPOs this year. SpaceX (including xAI) is one of them. With a valuation of $1.7 trillion dollars, it is the largest in US history. It's current revenue is $18 billion in 2025. So this means enterprise value to revenue ratio is around 100x. So give you a better sense of what that means, most companies have a enterprise value to revenue ratio of around 1x. PLTR (which is considered to be very overvalued) has a price to sales ratio of 62. So when it comes to new IPO stocks, we generally avoid it as insiders would dump their shares in the market first which drives the stock price down Cheers, Eric ---- Eric Seto Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) Founder of 5MinInvesting.com In May, I’m helping 20 people to become better at investing through Investing Accelerator. What to do during a bull market? Stay hungry
During a record bull market where everyone is making money, the most important thing you should do is... To stayvigilant. To stay hungry. Right now, we are riding a major semiconductor wave. But it is important that we don't getcomplacentwith our gains (even if those gains are in the millions) In the typical boom bust cycle, we are in the boom phase. The bust phase isinevitable. Smart investors will always put some cash aside for the bust phase. That's why from time to time, I would take on a short position whenever I see danger. That's how I buy "insurance" in case the market goes down. Because it eventually will. Cheers, Eric -- Eric Seto Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) Founder of 5MinInvesting.com In June, I’m helping 20 people to become better at investing through Investing Accelerator.
