WHAT DAW ARE YOU USING AND WHY? đŸŽ¶
Seeing as the last time we did this we only had about 100 members, let's get an update! What DAW are you mainly using these days and what about it has captured your heart? (Last time Bitwig was the big winner...) Vote below and leave a comment below briefly explaining why you use that DAW.

MEET YOUR TEAMMATES: CIRCLE OF SOUND #1 đŸŽ¶
[IMPORTANT: THE GAMES BEGIN ON TUESDAY 17. PLEASE TRY TO ATTEND THE GROUP CALL LISTED ON THE CALENDAR AS WE WILL BE EXPLAINING IN MORE DETAIL THE RULES] I'm happy to announce the teams for the first edition of the CIRLE OF SOUND community music production game suggested by @Aretius Klosa. The point of this game is to make a bunch of music as a community through an unusual collaboration procedure. The production process will be split into 5 stages; 1. Creating a soundpack (select no less than 10 sounds and no more than 30 sounds. These can be one shots, loops, musical loops, held synth note... etc. 2. Using the soundpack to come up with a 32 bar idea. Only use sounds you have received. Feel free to chop/reverse/pitch or whatever you need to do but only use the sound pack to create the idea. 3. Creating a full track arrangment from the 32 bar idea 4. Mixing the arranged song 5. Mastering the mixdown Every member of every group will do every stage at the same time. Every 2 weeks, you will export the audio stems of what you have created and pass it to the person below you on the list at the bottom of this post. IMPORTANT: EVERY STEP WILL REQUIRE YOU TO RENDER WHAT YOU HAVE TO AUDIO STEMS. THIS ENSURES CROSS DAW COMPATIBILITY. This cycle will progress for 10 weeks. Every 2 weeks everyone moves onto the next production stage using what they have been sent. So for example this means that during weeks 1 + 2, everyone will be tasked with creating a soundpack. In weeks 3 + 4, everyone will now be tasked with creating a 32 bar idea made with the soundpack passed to them by the team mate above them on the below list. In weeks 5 + 6, everyone will create an arrangement with the 32 bar idea they received from the team mate above them on the list... And so on. By the end of the 10-weeks, every member will have completed every one of the 5 stages and each group will have 3 finished songs. We will be holding a group Zoom call every 2 weeks so you can meet with your team mates in small breakout rooms and discuss how the process is going.

Let's Play A Community Game!
[EDIT: AS OF 12 SEPTEMBER THE SIGN UP PERIOD FOR THIS IS NOW OVER] @Aretius Klosa had a brilliant idea for a music collaboration game that I think you’ll love. The game involves us creating tracks by passing our work around in a small group, with each person adding their own twist without hearing the entire track history. HERE'S HOW IT WORKS 1. Create & Pass: Start a session, work on it for a set time, bounce it to audio, and pass it to the next person. 2. Add Your Magic: You’ll receive a session from another producer, add your flavor, and pass it along. You only get to hear the latest version—no peeking at earlier stages! 3. Repeat 5 Times: We’ll do this over five rounds in 10 weeks, meeting every two weeks on a video call to share progress and swap tracks. By the end, we’ll have 2-3 completed collab songs, ready for release! WHY PLAY? It’s a fun way to push your creativity, work without boundaries, and produce something truly unique—all in a DAW-independent format. WANT IN? If you’re interested in joining, select “YES” in the poll below. Aretius and I will get you set up with the details. Feel free to make any suggestions for making it even more fun! Let’s make some magic happen. TÂCHES

I guess we'll all learn as we go, I have lots to learn & looks like fun! :)
Hate Social Media? OK... So what are you doing instead?
Just recorded a new video for you all, and I’m diving into a topic that I think some of you need to hear (even if it stings a little). A lot of music producers say, “I want a career in music, but I hate social media. I don’t want to post, I don’t want to engage, I don’t want to be a part of that circus.” And honestly, I get it - social media isn’t everyone’s cup of tea and it can feel super lame to put yourself out there so publicly. But here’s the thing: if you’re not willing to put yourself out there ONLINE, what are you doing OFFLINE? If you’re actually serious about making music your career, you need to take action - some kind of action. I’m not saying you have to become the next TikTok super-influencer, but you do have to do something to get yourself and your music out there. If social media isn’t for you, that’s cool, but then let me ask you this: What are you doing to be heard in the real world? Are you printing out flyers with a QR code linking to your tracks and sticking them up around your town? Are you organizing events or gigs and giving out physical merch? Are you networking with local artists and venues? You can’t just sit around and wait for a career to magically fall into your lap. Here’s the cold truth: if you’re not doing anything, then you’ve made a choice - to stay exactly where you are. And that’s fine if you’re okay with that, but if you’re not, it’s time to wake up. Maybe it’s time to consider a combo approach: a little online, a little offline. Start small, but start somewhere. It might be worth getting over that fear or hatred of social media if it means serving your bigger goal - making great music and getting it out there. Because at the end of the day, no one’s going to know you or your music if you don’t do something to make sure they hear it. So here’s your friendly kick up the ass: Don’t just sit around talking about what you don’t want to do. Focus on what you will do to make your music career happen. You in?

I like keeping things real & to the point, not posting any BS or anything negative as there is enough negativity online & around the world. If you want to hear a DJ mix or not here it is, as there are enough DJ mixes floating around from everyone as well, LOL 🙃🎧

my experience online(promoting myself), I feel at times that you have to get gimmicky or 'so-called' sell out to get all the likes (I can't believe some people pay to get 'more' likes) and to get someone's attention to listen to a DJ mix or new music, unless you are already established and have a strong following. Kinda like the 'the fuck me I'm famous' slogan or doing weird off-the-wall stuff like Troxler (I like the guy and his music, just saying & an example) It's challenging at times to come up with something unique/cool, catchy, and out of the ordinary nowadays since everyone has done everything online (to some extent) but that's just my thoughts & rambling...
