Here is my process. You make not like it but it works for me and you can streamline the process. I am in this for the long haul and always looking to improve and create new content. I also have a note app on my IPhone and on the go can add new notes from the focus groups or when I connect with someone new and create takeaways. What I am doing is not a requirement and you can talk about anything. After all it’s your show and make it yours. I just happen to love research and it helps with my marketing. See following script: “Hi! I’m working on a podcast idea and would love your honest feedback. I’m creating it for people who want help with [topic]. Would you be willing to answer a few quick questions or listen to a short sample? I want to make sure it’s truly helpful before I launch.” ⸻ Simple Validation Questions 1. Would you listen to a podcast about this topic? 2. What would make you subscribe? 3. Which episode title would catch your attention first? 4. What are you currently struggling with in this area? 5. Do you prefer short episodes or longer ones? 6. What type of host voice do you enjoy most—warm, direct, motivational, educational? 7. What would make this podcast stand out to you? I am having fun with this and received my first review. Part 1: Validate Your Podcast Part 2: Create a Simple Podcast Focus Group You do not need a huge group. Start small. A. Choose your focus group • Invite 5–8 people who match your ideal listener • Include people who will be honest, not just supportive • Choose people who actually listen to podcasts • Include a mix of beginners and experienced listeners if relevant B. Decide how you’ll gather feedback • Create a small private group chat • Or host a Zoom call • Or send a Google Form / survey • Or do voice-note feedback by text C. Ask the right questions • What topics would make you stop and listen? • What are you struggling with right now in this area? • What kind of podcast do you enjoy most? • How long do you prefer podcast episodes to be?
