Tube or jig?
Personally Iโd throw a tube before a jig. It comes through cover better but lacks the better hookup ratio when rigged weedless. What do you prefer?

Jig guy myself. Tube is good in the river though. Something about that swing on a jig I love.

It's been a gamechanger for me in the river. I use the Eagle Eye 9 and it shows me everything. Better to have it than to not have it. Caught 4 giant smallmouth in November on the jighead minnow where I played cat and mouse with them!

Introducing myself
Hi all, Iโm Francesco from Italy. Iโve been fishing for as long as I can remember. Mainly fly-fishing since I live in a trout area with long time heritage in fly fishing. But for Christmas, I received a light spinning rod and reel combo. LOVE IT! And want to start using it properly. Iโve already tried spinning and casting techniques with some friends, but I want to improve my skills. I found this community and decided to join. Iโve already gotten some good advice. Amazing community! Have you ever heard of BCF (bait casting finesse)? If so, do you have any advice on a good rod and reel? I want to try that type of fishing in the small Alps creek near my home. Thanks a lot!

I bought the ark series gravity BFS reel and have had nothing but good experiences with it. I run a super light dobyns sierra rod with it.

Baby it's cold outside...
Cold is relative to your area, it could mean 50 degrees in Florida or 10 degrees anywhere else. What's too cold for you? What's your go to favorite cold water bait?

For smallies, they set up in winter holes. I like to stick them with a ned rig personally. That's what I have the most luck with.
