Prolapse vs. Laxity
Hi ladies. I’m 4 months postpartum with my 2nd and was told at my 6 week check up that everything looked fine and that she just noticed some laxity but nothing out of the norm. I told her I still felt swollen and tender down there and she referred me to a pfpt. I had the pfpt do an internal exam and she said she couldn’t technically diagnose me but she would call it a grade 1-2 bladder prolapse. I’m now 17 weeks postpartum and went back to my OB for another check up and more answers and was told everything looks normal. I asked what the buldge was and she said she didn’t feel the buldge. It’s extremely noticeable to me so I had her examine me standing up and go get a mirror so I could show her and she said that was just laxity and normal. It does not feel normal at all to me and causes so much discomfort (heaviness, tampon feeling and achy pain if on my feet too long or standing while holding my son). I’m getting an ultrasound tomorrow just to make sure nothing else is going on but has anyone else had this happen? Is it the “walnut”? If it is, do others have this same feeling of discomfort with it? What questions should I ask after my ultrasound if they say everything looks normal?

Hi! My name is Erin and I’m a SAHM of 2 littles. 1 beautiful girl who just turned 3 and a precious little boy about to be 4 months. I was recently diagnosed with a stage 1/2 bladder prolapse and am trying to do everything I can to strengthen my pelvic floor in hopes to be symptom free. I want to be able to get stuff done around the house and run/jump/play with my kids and hold them without this heaviness feeling or worries that I’ll make things worse.
