Good Mornin' VA Peeps!
I've been working my way through the VA Blueprint, and even though I set a launch date for September 4th, 2026, my ADHD hyperfocus kicked in and I'm already through to Module 8 ( I also did some things before the course became available). I'm at the point, where we are talking about social media and whatnot. Things like LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram were mentioned as possible starting points. I'm curious what people think about using YouTube as their main starting social media? Is their specific reasons for not doing it first? Have a great day ya'll!

Hi Brandon, I'll kick start! Great question and in order to answer, I need some more details from you. 1. Have you thought about the type of client (person or industry) that you want to work with? 2. If yes, do you think they're spending their time predominantly on YT? 3. What would you talk about on your channel? Depending on those answers, YT might be the place for you. In general, you want your presence to be primarily where your future clients are most likely to see you. AKA, you don't want to be shouting into a black hole. As a YouTuber myself, YT is incredible for searchability. A video you post today can still be bringing you leads two years from now, which isn't true of a LinkedIn post or an Instagram story that scrolls by in a day. But it's also usually a slow burn out of the gate. The algorithm rewards consistency and volume, so you can be filming and editing for weeks before it puts you in front of anyone who isn't already looking for you. I'd treat YouTube as something you layer in once you've landed a couple of clients and have real content to pull from, not as the on-ramp itself. But again, totally depends on your answers to the three questions above!

@Brandon B given your answers.. YT might indeed be the way to go! I love what your plan and your channel niche. You’re totally right, YT is on a real rocket ride. They’re even attending tradition media upfronts this year, crazy. you’ve convinced me - go for the Tube!
For anyone who is worried about AI taking your job...
I asked Gemini to give my hair more volume and it gave me this 🤣 My first thoughts: 1. Rude. 2. What is this outfit? 3. AI is only as good as your inputs. 4. You're job is safe.

AI vs Virtual Assistant : Should I be Worried? 😟
Lately, I’ve been thinking about something that honestly makes me a little worried. 😞 Today, I watched a YouTube video about AI and the future of Virtual Assistant jobs. It mentioned that AI could potentially replace many VA tasks—and maybe even VA jobs in the future. As someone looking to build my career as a VA, I can’t help but wonder: Will AI replace Virtual Assistants, or will it simply help us work smarter and faster? 🤖 I’d love to hear from experienced VAs—what do you think?

Portfolio Review
Hi I wanted some of help with my Portfolio website. I've decided to use the sample task that Erin Has must have skills course. I did some of the tasks and created a google site and put it there as well as my other informations. I wanted some of your reviews and of course Erin's Critique to help me improve this Right now it's the starting draft and as I go on using your feedback Some other things that I put in it. Hopefully it can help me find a new Client. Here is the link: https://sites.google.com/view/reiyn-va-portfolio/home

Reiyn, I LOVE IT. It's so easy to skim (which is ideal for busy clients who are looking for highlights). I love your "hire me" and "download CV" buttons so clearly marked at the top. I love your work experience breakdown and your easy-to-find contact information at the bottom of the page. This is a fantastic portfolio and you should feel confident in sharing this with the world! WELL DONE!

Happy Friday! 🎉
It's been a big week in here and I want to hear from YOU. What made you feel proud of yourself this week? Big, small, "I showed up even though I didn't feel like it," all of it counts. Drop it below. One win, one sentence, that's the whole assignment. 😁

@Hannah Kloe You're so right - and I'm sending you all the good vibes. Hope you can take the weekend to do something nourishing and joyful!

@Aditi Kumar the follow up is a must. I mention in the Blueprint course how most people win clients after following up. My rule of thumb is follow up one more time next week and then kindly move on if you still get no response.
