Hello, How would you handle fence fighting? My dog is a 5 year old Shepherd /husky/lab (northern mix). Our neighbour got a dog recently and they are constantly trying to attack each other through the fence. I have my dog on a long line now every time we’re in the yard so I can safely pull him off. it’s not a case of being frustrated at the barrier I think it’s more territorial from what I’ve observed (huffing, charging at the fence, trying to bite through the fence). He can be around other dogs with proper introductions but can be selective with other male dogs. We have put fabric along the fence so they can’t see each other and I’m working on increasing our recall with distractions present (work in progress), and have started doing some counter conditioning when the neighbour’s dog is out. What would you do differently or add to the mix? Thanks!

Thanks for the response! The dogs have not walked together at all as the neighbour hasn’t been super receptive to that idea but I will keep trying to make it happen. And no we have not worked with an e-collar at this point. We will look into it. Thanks again
