Auto-Align 2 plug in
Has anyone used this plug in? I stumbled upon it while looking for the Vocalign plugin @Jake Kodweis used on Vocal Challenge yesterday. https://www.soundradix.com/auto-align/

I use Auto Align for live drums. I’ve also tried it on a pair of mics on a guitar cab. Basically for anything that is being multi mic’d. I haven’t yet upgraded to the new version, but it looks pretty sweet and I probably will soon. It’s definitely a cool plugin to have to get your tracks lined up quickly.

@Mark Holley Cool Mark. I’ll have to upgrade then. Sounds like it’s faster and easier than before, which is always helpful. I use Pro tools, and I would duplicate the original tracks so I had something to revert back to, then use Auto Align on all the drum tracks and then print it when I was done so I didn’t have to use the processing anymore.

I would love to see a lot more about the production process. I feel like we see plenty about mixing and mastering from both Fix the Mix and the TRE program. I want to know more about recording, editing, and everything leading up to the mixing phase.
IK Arc 3 system for room correction
Anyone have or try this system from IK. Comes with a mic and room correction software. Seems like a decent deal if it works well. Anyone use this system and if so how much better did it make your mix sound? Thanks in advance.

@Steve Rinaldi cool Steve. Happy to hear it works well for you. So would you say it’s pretty accurate and worth the investment in comparison to Sonorworks?

@Brian Steel I have not yet tried Arc 3 yet. Still just rocking my sonnor works. I got their measurement mic that comes with it so that’s what I used. If you don’t have a measurement mic with a reference number, then I would try to pick the mic with the closest to flat frequency response you can. I’d look up the specs on each one of the mics you have to use a just try to find the flattest one. Then just consider what that mic will contribute to your results when you do your analysis. Let me know how it goes. Good luck.
Recording and Mixing
How many people here are actually doing the whole process of Recording and mixing in your space as apposed to just getting mix ready projects from clients? As for myself, I have a live room and a mixing room in my house, and find myself doing the whole process of tracking, editing, and mixing and have yet to work with a client that has everything ready for just mixing. Would just like to chat with some others out there like me and hear about your process and your approach to “Doing it All.”

@Linda Wagner Good luck Linda. That does sound like a whole mess of problems. I am using Pro Tools also. If you can’t get Sonorworks to play nicely while trying to get it to work globally on your system, you still have an option to load the Sound ID plugin within Pro Tools and just put it in the last plugin slot on your Master Buss. This way it bypasses your Focusrite software and still gives you the EQ correction you need while listening back inside of Pro Tools.

@Torynce Wilson I find myself doing mostly punk rock or indie rock and maybe some sub form of metal. But I will also do some acoustic stuff like recording my mom doing blues. Here’s a question. For the kind of genres that you do mostly, do you record live drums and guitar amps? Or do you rely on samples, loops, and amp modelers?
Reference 2
Hey everyone, wanted to thank the team for the awesome material and demos. Worked days 2 and 3 so I am going back through the replays. Is Reference 2 also available for us for free or is it just the limiter?
