What's the most boring job you still do by hand every week? 😴
Not the mowing. The other stuff. The job you put off every week. Mine was asking customers for Google reviews. So I built a robot to do it for me. It sends one review request a day to someone on my client list. So far it has sent 16 texts and got me 4 new reviews. I've gone from 87 to 91 Google reviews. The boring jobs are the ones worth fixing first. What's yours? Invoicing, chasing payments, texting customers when it rains? Drop it below 👇 If a few of you say the same one, I'll look at building the fix.

"Am I leaving money on the table, or undercutting?" 💸
Saw this in the group this week. Most guys answer it by checking what the other guy charges. That's backwards. Start with your own numbers. Say you want $2,000 a week. Half of that goes on running costs. Fuel, maintenance, tax, and gear. So you take home $1,000. $2,000 over a 40-hour week is $50 an hour. But you won't mow 40 hours. There's driving, quoting, fuelling up, changing blades, and fixing stuff. You'll be lucky to get 6.5 hours of actual mowing in a day. So you need $60 an hour just to hit the number. That's why I would recommend that you quote at least $1 a minute. 🕐 Guess the time, then multiply. 30 minutes lawn = $30. Then add hills, trees, catching, and mess. ⏱️ Time the first mow. If it keeps taking longer than you quoted, put the price up. 🚫 Have a minimum. Mine is $35 for a regular mow and $60 for a one-off. If they say no, you've saved yourself the drive. 🗣️ Say it like you mean it. Give the price, then stop talking. Most people are fine with your price if you are. You're running a business, not a charity. What do you charge per minute? Have you worked it out, or are you going off the guy down the road?

@Stuart Clifford So if you’re starting with no lawns and want to gain new clients fast charge out at $60 a hour plus GST gain some traction then increase as I get busier is that a good way of doing it? then track times and price increase the low paying lawns when getting full?
Bizza Lead System from Jims Mowing
is it worth doing the Bizza Lead System from Jims Mowing ? They want to charge you $25 per lead regardless if you get it or not

The quality of customers coming through Bizza doesn’t seem to be very good. They appear to simply sell you a customer’s name and phone number without asking any qualifying questions. I received a lead the other day and paid $25.80 for it, only to find out the customer thought our $70 lawn mowing price was too expensive for a once off mow. Essentially, we paid $25.80 for a lead that went nowhere. I don’t think it’s good value for money when we’re paying for enquiries without knowing whether the customer is genuinely interested or willing to pay for the service. And Bizza isn't interested if you got the job or not.

3 weekly lawn mowing service in peak season?
Someone asked for a 3 weekly lawn mowing service quote in the peak season, what to do here and how to price this, ideally we want weekly or fortnightly service in peak season and the 3 weekly to monthly services are for winter season.
